Bandai Macross Frontier F VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie Ozuma 1/72 Scale

Another great addition to my collection of Macross Frontier mecha. Since I already had Michel's VF-25G (and I bought a separate super pack to "enhance" it) and the Alto's VF-25S Tornado, I already knew what I am getting into as far as this product from Bandai is concerned. ASSEMBLY is required so this is not some out-of-the-box-and-into-your-display-cabinet type of figure. As with my previous reviews concerning my older purchases, you really have to have a bucketful of patience and devotion before you can see this scale model in all its Deculture! beauty. And since this is the ARMORED Version, anyone who wants to "get their hands dirty" will surely be given a treat. The box alone is literally fat compared to my previous acquisitions, meaning there are a lot of parts to deal with (and a lot of work to do). As with all models from Bandai requiring assembly, each frame is color and letter/number coded for ease of reference in relation to the manual (which is in Japanese). Again, if you're squeamish about seeing instructions in Japanese, use common sense and you'll be starting in no time. The moldings are already colored to match the venerable VF-25 we see in the series so adding paint is optional. Decals come in two versions, sticker type and the wet transfer type. If you are into detailing, I suggest to start with the details (piece by piece if you are meticulous) before starting the actual assembling. I won't bore anyone the details on how I started my mission to assemble this iconic piece of Macross Frontier lore, but I will say this again....Patience and a discriminating eye are the determining factors for your work to turn out they way you expect them to be.Since this is meant to be displayed, it is durable in its category as a display piece. When fully built, it is quite strong enough to handle transformation from one configuration to another but I don't recommend transforming it every now and then. A display base is also included in the package (which is really needed) as the figure, in Battroid mode has difficulty in standing, thanks to the huge booster packs attached at the back. The display base is also a treat in itself because it is NOT included in the other models and one has to purchase it separately for that matter. Transformation from Valkyrie to Gerwalk to Battroid requires care and patience (again) since this is not built to be played and exposed to constant transformation. If anyone is more into collecting and playing/tinkering on a more frequent basis, I'd rather you purchase the DX Chogokin version (albeit more expensive)..Overall, like any model, it has its own pros and cons (which is subjective) but as far as my own expectation is concerned, this particular representation of the VF-25 Messiah piloted by Ozma Lee in its Armored Glory is worthy of all my time and sacrifice in building it. For those who have the patience, I highly recommend this to you.

Either I got a defective product or the manufacturer chose to low a quality of plastic.The gun pod is of great quality of plastic but during assembly the wings feel off due to the wings hing plastic is of to soft quality plastic.

its big heavy and im ganna have a cow building it so whoever wants a challenge in building macross models shold acquire 1.

As a experienced Gundam builder I figured why not take a shot at a Macross kit. I grew up watching the 80’s shows and even had a die cast Valkyrie as a kid. Love the bot to plane to waverider modes. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with the kit. The arm joints had a complete joint pin failure. It completely flawed and form other then plane form. Extremely upsetting especially when you pay a pretty penny. Such is life. I’ll probably drill out the joints and use metal hardware to get it up to speed. I’m sure I’ll try again because I’m always glutton for punishment.

This is a wonderful collectible, even when I am not to fond of models I cannot complain about this on.It does have 1 particular flaw, the doors of the nose wheel bay are very brittle and can be easily broken off, it happened to me.

What should have been a fun model turned into a multi hour rage fest the instructions differ from the model and nothing fits

色分けによる整形色は流石バンダイプラモです。ですが、変形は非常に面倒なため、一番形状が素晴らしいファイターで固定しました。DX合金リニューアル等の洗練されたバトロイドのフォームに比べ、プラモ版は数段見劣りしますね。（まぁ、DX版アーマードパーツは入手困難で、買えませんでしたが、ね）

Très bien détaillé, modèle au 1/72 convertible.

可変ロボットを主に作ってます。アンクシャリゼルc型ロトそしてこのVF２５sですが、正直ストレスばかりです。ファイター形態はともかく、ガウォーク、バトロイドに変形させるにはピースのあわないパズルでも解くようなものです。１：先ず、変形には補助パーツを取り付けなくてならない２：説明書には（おそらくプレゼン用の）３DCGが多用されており、見づらく分かりづらい。３：機首の収納はどうやってもパーツどうしが当たり、さらにパーツを外して変形させる必要がある４：手のパーツは組み替え方式５：ランディングギアの取り付けにもパーツを外す必要がある６：盾のパーツ装着にも組み替えようパーツが必要７：肩のミサイルポットは差し込みh式で補助力０の上に一度とれると戻すが更に大変８：頭部バルカンもすぐに落ちる９。。。あげるとまだまだありますね。変形プラモデルの割にポリキャップを殆ど使っていないので、ガウォーク、バトロイドともに保持力０など、もうレビューを書くのも嫌になります。どうしてもアーマードメサイヤが欲しい人はどうぞ。ただし、変形を楽しみたい方には全くお進めしません。☆１でも良いのですが、ディスプレイスタンドが付属しているので、☆２としました。

Ottimo modello in scala 1/72;consiglio vivamente per chi e' appassionato di modellismo,soprattutto se la passione si chiama Macross.Il modello e' da montare e le plastiche sono di ottima qualità ,belli gli adesivi ,ri specchia pienamente il modello della serie animata.
