CuisinoxRoma Satin Stainless Steel Moka Pot Stovetop Espresso Maker, 4-Cup (6 oz)

Our electric espresso machine died and the replacement parts are on back-order, so I purchased this little coffee maker for use in the meantime. Firstly, this is a beautiful little piece of kit. It has a reassuring weight to it, and is easy to use and clean. Initially, I just filled the reservoir with water to just below the pressure release valve, sprinkled medium grind coffee beans into the funnel filter, and put it on high heat. The instructions do say to put it on medium-high heat, and with good reason. On high heat, the coffee comes out weak and unsatisfying. On medium high heat the coffee flavor comes out strong. It's not exactly what we were looking for (in that we wanted our electric espresso machine working), but it is an excellent stop-gap.

I have had the Cuisinox 6-Cup Moka Expresso Maker for 11 years and just bought the 4-cup version. Like the 6-cup, the 4-cup makes a great tasting rich cup of coffee. Watch Seattle Coffee Gear’s Youtube video regarding the use of moka pots. It’s very helpful. I take the pot apart, including removing the silicone gasket, and wash it with soapy water, rinse well, wipe dry, then air dry. Treat it well, replace the gasket every 12 months, and it will give you great coffee for a lifetime. I couldn’t be happier!

This is a high quality stainless 4-cup stove top espresso maker. The handle stays cool to the touch as the heavy bottom piece conducts the heat. The only flaw is the waiter thin mesh plate that sits above the grounds and below the reservoir. The pressure rising up as the water boils bends this plate upwards every time. Hopefully it is available as a replacement part as I do have to bend it back to flat to prevent the grounds from pushing upwards.

Best on the market. Excellent quality.

After trying and returning a slightly lower priced espresso pot, we were very happy with this one. Right away , the weight of it felt like a higher quality. The handle doesn’t get hot and the coffee is smooth and perfect! Very happy with this purchase!

I like this moka pot. It make good coffee and tea.

This smells terrible and also gets chemicals in coffee. Cuisinox does not allow refunds at all. Bad bad bad. Stay away.
