I was privileged to attend a gallery opening of Glenn Losack’s photography, a number of years ago, above a lower east side bar in Manhattan. Walking from photograph to photograph was a deeply moving experience. Not every picture was lovely, but every picture brought you into a personal encounter with another passenger travelling this world with you. His tender intimacy reminds you of Dorothea Lange, but his context is richer. His palate pulls you into the world, reminding you that these are photographs of your brothers and sisters, however different their skin color and station in life.
