Loved It! Very Entertaining and Funny
Rating edit: 4.5 stars. It's funny and entertaining, and romantic in a very interesting way.Writing style is engaging that keeps you hooked. The characters and situations are relatable. Loved the protagonists, particularly, Declan, and I really enjoyed their repartee. The dialogues are witty, and so interesting that I was actually wondering what they were going to say. Apart from the protagonists, I really liked Will.Everything about this book was enjoyable, so much that I wanted to finish it in a single sitting, but of course, gone are those days, but I really wanted to get back to the book whenever I took a break.OK, I thought epilogue was unnecessary.Overall, a very entertaining read. Loved it! One of my favourite reads this year. Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

A cute & funny romance.
* ARC received for an honest review*One Night Only is a book by Catherine Walsh. This is my first book from the author. This book was so good.It was a light read which I really wanted after being in the world of Dark romance for too long. And also it was fast paced but I did feel it was slow at some parts. The story starts of with the heroine Sarah, who is an architect residing in New York, and who has one rule when it comes to her personal life, that is having only One - Night Stands. When things get tough in her professional life, to get her mind of it, she goes on a vacation by attending a Irish wedding of her best friend. But what she wasn't ready for was her latest hook-up coincidently being in attendance at the wedding. He was the brother of the groom.Sarah was a really flawed character with commitment issues n a truck load of baggage with her. She really liked sex n wasn't ashamed of it. She was straightforward n wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She was also an amazing friend who wanted to make her best friends day memorable & did a great job. She is also has a good sense of humour. She like every other human being had goals in her life, and when it wasn't reached, it frustrated n made her unhappy.Declan was as flawed as Sarah. He was like a typical bad boy in the outside but a soft man in the inside. He was a charming, funny n a really sarcastic guy. He had his own baggage which made him the way he is. But he was trying hard to be better for himself n people around him.Sarah n Declan had amazing chemistry. I loved their banters n all the teasing. The tension n angst between them was so intense. I liked how they cared about each other n how they allowed themselves to be vulnerable in the other's presence. Not gonna lie, due to their baggage, it wasn't easy for them to let the other in but they tried as best as they can can.I loved the side characters. They were really amazing. The balanced the story really well.Yeah I did feel kinda weird with somethings but it was nothing major that affected the main story.Overall this book was cute, funny n heartwarming. I really enjoyed it.Thank you NetGalley & bookouture for providing me this arc.

Delightfully funny and charming romantic comedy
One Night Only is a delightfully funny and charming romantic comedy that had me bursting out in laughter so many times that it earned me bewildered looks from my sister.Sarah is shocked to find out that her latest one-night stand is none other than Declan, her best friend’s new brother-in-law and best man at their wedding. This book follows a commitment phobe Sarah, as she overcomes her trust issues so as to find love with the man she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about.Special thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. This fast paced story is full of messy characters, hilarious banter and gasp-worthy twists. Declan and Sarah are far from perfect. Probably the most satisfying aspect of the book is that the author makes Sarah work for her happily ever after. Declan is a little bit of a mystery probably because the narrative is solely from Sarah’s perspective. Nonetheless, his laidback, bubbly character brings a load of humor to this tale. The secondary characters also provide some great rom-com moments and funny dialogues to the story. Another thing that I loved were the author’s vivid descriptions of Ireland. One Night Only is a story narrated with love and perfection. It is hard to believe that this is Catherine’s debut novel. I’m certainly going to pick up whatever she releases next.I recommend this feel good story for readers who like a sweet, somewhat realistic romantic comedy that is sure to have them laughing out loud.

warm, funny & smart
Sarah Anderson has a strict policy of one night only when it comes to men, so you can imagine her horror when handsome, charming Declan, recently kicked out of her bed, appears at her best friend’s wedding. And he’s the best man. Sarah is deeply mortified, and a tiny bit intrigued by Declan… and so begins the utterly charming and enjoyable One Night Only.Something startlingly refreshing about this novel from the first page was it’s willingness to play around with genre conventions, never quite landing on one. It was one of the firstromances I’ve read that has kept me guessing right to the end. Sarah and Declan’s relationship flirts (heh) with slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, and friends-to-lovers, though it never quite fits into any of these boxes. This kept me hooked and excited to see what would happen next. Walsh’s protagonist is also made of fresher stuff than the average - she’s the one with the deep fear of commitment, not the man. Without giving away anything, this allows Walsh to dig into some tougher subjects, adding grit and nuance to the story without overwhelming the reader or taking away from the main romantic plot. The novel also boasts a lovely cast of characters, rounded in their own right as opposed to window-dressing for the main couple. I particularly enjoyed Declan’s nosy Irish mam, hell-bent on matchmaking in a way that made me cringe with recognition, and Sarah’s work rival slash frenemy Matthias - can we have a book about him next, please? The book’s dual settings of Ireland and New York worked well for me, neither falling prey to the stereotyping that happens so often to them. I would have loved to have seen more of Walsh’s Ireland, with it’s rainy skies and grandiose houses: a far cry from the pot-of-gold-touting depictions so popular in romances past. It felt real and not at all picture-perfect, and the very Irish nonsense that took place (the FANS and the FISH in the HEAT) made me laugh out loud several times.I loved this book. It’s warm, funny, smart and with just a hint of wry humour that prevents things from becoming too saccharine. An absolutely cracking debut, I cannot wait to see what Catherine does next. Thanks to @bookouture for the ARC!

The vanilla of romance novels
The novel was far too long considering the ‘plot’ (and I use the word plot lightly). Single POV, a bland story line and characters that are one dimensional and not particularly endearing. The combination of which amounts to a rather dull book. As for the comedy part of the romance - it barely raised a smile in one or two places. This is my first novel from this author. I won’t be reading another.

So good I'm already re-reading it
Have you ever started to read a book and then realise you have to cancel all your plans was you MUST know how it finishes..? Well that was this book for me. I was surprised with how much this book kept me guessing!Loved how well rounded all the characters are. They felt like real people who we all know or could know and HELL YES for the positive, non judgment way Walsh wrote about her lead character! Felt like I was transported in to Sarah's life and I just want moreIf you're looking for a summer read - read this bookIf you're looking for a fun romance - read this bookIf you're looking for something that is just a GOOD read - read this bookIf you fancy a bit of New York meets Ireland - read this bookBasically... just read this book!

Imagine people trying to pair you up with your last one-night stand at a destination wedding
Sarah Anderson is a young architect in New York, after a brutal break up with her ex, Josh, she's become a love 'em and leave 'em one-night stand artist. Imagine her horror when her latest one-night stand turns out to be the best man at her BFF Annie's wedding in Ireland, where Sarah is the maid of honour. What's worse, the groom's mother is trying to set her up with the best man, her son Declan!I loved the sound of this, who doesn't like the idea of being stuck at a destination wedding with your last one-night stand when you barely know anyone else other than the bride and groom?Unfortunately, this started to wane around the halfway mark, first it just dragged. Second, Sarah had that irritating habit of not believing what she was told, whether it was Declan or her friends saying he was smitten with her, she just didn't believe it. Third, Declan was a bit of a tool TBH. (view spoiler) Fourth, there were just too many tropes for one book to carry single-handedly.
