Amazing SSD for PS5 - Improved my Gaming Experience!
English:After researching the best SSDs for my PS5, I decided to purchase the Western Digital WD_Black 1TB SN850, and I'm so glad I did. The installation process was straightforward, and the SSD works flawlessly. I am impressed by the remarkable speed and performance that this SSD provides, which has significantly improved my overall gaming experience. The quality of the product is exceptional. If you're looking for a reliable and fast SSD for your PS5, I highly recommend the Western Digital WD_Black 1TB SN850. It's an outstanding choice that has exceeded my expectations. The Sony website recommends a minimum SSD speed of 5,500MB/s for the PlayStation 5. The Western Digital WD_Black 1TB SN850 SSD has a speed of 6,544 MB/s (according to the PS5 installation process), which exceeds the recommended speed.Recommending installing any Heatsink your choice.

Super fast!
In my old HDD, Cyberpunk 2077 would load for about a minute. Moving to this made my Cyberpunk 2077 load for only 5 seconds! HUGE difference.

Good for PS5
Went with this as a safe bet for PS5 expansion given the positives already covered in multiple reviews, and it was a breeze to install. Only headache with the whole install process was I had was actually getting the PS5 cover plate off, so that should give you some re-assurance as to how easy it is. It came with a pre-installed heatsink (basically the cover on the drive that helps dissipates heat), which is good as you dont need to concern yourselves with aftermarket options or run into compatibility issues. If getting for a PS5, make sure you get the version with heatsink (As there is an option without as well). For installation, there are plenty of online tutorials available in case you get stuck. Shouldn't take more than 5 mins.

Great on PS5
Speed on Ps5 is 5645MBps. So it is great. You have to connect it to pc first to update to the latest firmware.

Works great on PS5
Just installed this in the PS5 (as I am on the beta test for the latest patch) and can confirm it works fine. I coupled it with a Glotrend £12.99 heatsink (one sided as I bought the 1TB drive), and the PS5 instantly recognised it and reported it was capable of 6999mb/s. I moved a number of PS5 games across to it, and they are all playing with no issues. To install I just flipped off the top of the PS5, removed the expansion plate, unscrewed the screw inside the slot (and removed the small silver ring), gently slotted the drive (now with heatsink stuck on top) into the slot of the left, and pushed down, put the silver ring into the whole under the screw (so the drive sat on top of it), and screwed the screw back in. I didn't replace the drive cover to allow air in, and then replaced the PS5 top. And rebooted.Took about 4 minutes.Recommended.

PS5 Storage extension
Bought for PS5 internal storage extension. Compared with Samsung 980 Pro, this was a couple of hundreds cheaper and was higher rated and recommended in several online reviews on PS5 / gaming review websites. The Sept 2021 firmware update of PS5 is must for using the M.2 Storage. PS5 requires the M.2 storage to have speed above 5500 mbps.Received the package on time, sealed original box. The box contains only the chip and product litrature. Sony recommeds using a heatsink. I went with Jonsbo heatsink (silver grey or black). The combo meets the size requirements of PS5.Fitting the chip to PS5 was easy and is shown in several videos on Internet. The holding screw and placer are already given in PS5. Only thing to be careful about is that placer should also be moved in correct hole before putting in the screw. I missed that first time but thankfully realised it before powering on, and had to open the PS5 console again to fix it. Remember to ground yourself properly before handling the chip. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, better seek help of a friend who knows his ways around computer parts. On switching on the PS5, it automatically detected the chip storage and gave option to format it. For first time installation, you must format the storage in PS5. It also detected the speed as 6655 mbps, which is almost the rating of the chip (7000 mbps). The size is detected as 1.01TB and shows full 1TB as available out of which some space is taken by PS5 system files. PS5 moved 3 games and 2 apps totalling 260 GB in under 2 minutes to the chip. The games start from the chip (shown as 'M.2 SSD Storage' in PS5 settings) and there isn't any noticeable lag/latency compared to inbuilt storage. So far PS5 treats internal storage and M.2 SSD as two different storages, so one has to decide to store which game where. PS5 has option to set the M.2 SSD as default storage for games & apps. There are separate options for PS5 and PS4 games. I plan to use the M.2 SSD as default as all games can be played directly from there as well, no need to transfer games to inbuilt storage. I anyway delete games that I've finished and don't plan on playing again. With FTTH broadband at home, re-download isn't a big problem. 1TB+667GB should be sufficient for about 10-15 games that I keep around in console. With talks that newer PS5 games will be smaller in size due to better compression, maybe togather it'll be good for 25+ games each averaging about 60GB.Overall, very satisfied with purchase and happy that my PS5 will hopefully not run out of game space now.

Was dead on arrival
Absolutely fuming with this drive. I'm running the beta version on my PS5, should work no issue. However I installed and it was dead.My PS5 lights up and then spent around 20 seconds hanging, then it just turned off. No attempts could rectify this. As soon as I took it out the PS5 booted no problem.I back installed to standard firmware and then back to beta, made sure everything was up to date but again it wouldn't start with it. Exactly the same issue, blue lights, no HDMI signal and then off.I tried it in my pc and what do you know? My pc wouldn't post for half an hour. When it finally did my pc was locked completely on bios logo screen, keyboard was locked, mouse wasn't lit. As soon as I removed it my pc booted!Spoke to Sony who instantly said that the drive is at fault and they even told me they've had reports for this drive doing the same with others.I'm going to pick a different brand. Waste of a an afternoon and for nothing.
