Govinda - Brass Aladdin Chirag Genie Lamp Burner - 5 Inch Long

I just got the lamp and put a cotton wick in it and filled the base with olive oil. I let the wick draw up the oil and lit it. It's beautiful.It's thick, solid brass and is very elegantly and sturdily designed. It's built to last a lifetime. The only problem with this kinds of oil lamps is that if you fill them too much, oil begins to dribble from the lip of the spout, so you have to make sure not to fill it too much. But these are definitely designed for oil, where the wicks lie fairly flat because oil is too heavy to draw upwards, as with kerosene and liquid paraffin.I also measured it, and the lamp itself is 5" long, not including the handle (so you get your money's worth!), and 3" high. With the handle, it's about 6.5" long and about 3.5" high.I'll probably be ordering more, because the price is right.

This lamp works great as a decoration and as a functional lamp.

I felt it could have been a bit larger in size, however, for the purpose used (Genie for Halloween) it made the costume pop. I got great comments. For home decor I feel it would be perfect. For a child (up to age 12ish) it would also work great for a costume given the child's size/ height.

THIS THING IS CHEAP AND FLIMSY. The carry handle was broken when I opened the package and I assume it would break extremely easily even if it wasn't. However when I filled it up with olive oil and put a wick in it it did indeed burn beautifully, so I can't give it one star as it does in fact work as intended. My advice would to be very gentle with it or don't buy it at all.

This lamp is pristine, no starp edges and perfect for a D&D cosplay/prop

Just got it and it is exactly what I wanted. A small brass lamp that functions very well.
