What a wonderful continuation for this series!
Series Info/Source: This is the sixth Omnibus volume in the series and covers volumes 16-18. I bought this book.Story (5/5): At this point there’s just a lot going on here. Ed and Al journey to the north searching for May Chang in hopes that she can teach them the purification arts. Shortly after they get there a homunculus breaches Fort Briggs from underground. While the crew at Fort Briggs is dealing with that issue, Kimblee shows up with Winry in tow. Now the only way to save Winry might be for Ed and Al to work for Kimblee. Meanwhile Riza Hawkeye is working as an aide to the President, she discovers some truly disturbing things about the president’s son. It’s a very well done story and I am thoroughly enjoying it.Characters (5/5): We spend lots of time with Ed and Al which I loved. A lot of the characters at Fort Briggs are well done and Kimblee is delightfully evil. Very well done.Setting (5/5): I continue to enjoy the alternate history/steampunkish fantasy setting to this world. Spending time in the far north was cool too.Writing Style/Illustration (5/5): This continues to be a series that is very well written, with a great story and snappy dialogue...it’s just perfectly done. The illustration is easy to follow and highly detailed, I love it!Summary (5/5): Overall I continue to really love this series. Everything about it is really well done; great story, characters, illustration, and setting. Highly recommended!

Now this is a fine choice
This is just primarily for the books themselves because there are already plenty of reviews for the actual story. As it stands, these are good for the price and if you are into 3 in 1 tankobans, then you will feel right at home. Pages do feel a bit lighter compared to single volume and the complaints are valid. But unless you are ACTIVELY trying to break the pages, they are still as sturdy a normal book pages. I will also say that these books are not meant for travel, although this did not happen to me unless you have someplace to put them in a bag that is protected, outside damage is likely like scratches and even slight small cuts. Even so, still satisfied as I was able to get a deal on all 9 books under 90 Dollars.Do this, go for the hardcovers that are up to volume 5 at this point as of writing this review. Each of them only cover 2 as suppose to 3 but with the added effect of better and clearer scans that are better to stand the test of time, that is most likely a definitive version for those who enjoy this series. And as someone who has up to volume 4, even though there is gonna be at least a 2 to 3-year release window seeing that there will be about 18 total hardcovers, I say they are worth the investment. But that's what is great because between the individual Volumes, the box set and the 3 in 1, even if you don't wanna wait, you still have that option.

5 Stars for Hiromu Arakawa, 2 Star for Shipping
I've bought 5 FMA books off of Amazon so far and 3 have arrived with some sort of damage. I read some reviews and people have the same issue with ordering these books. I would give less stars, but that would do a disservice to the writer because it really is an outstanding manga. Highly recommend especially if you can get ahold of this manga in person.

Amazing
This manga is absolutely fantastic, fantastic plot and story, beautifully illustrated, lots of great and strong characters. I liked the fact that the author portrayed the female characters as strong, independent and think for themselfs Like Winry and Riza

FMA For The Win!
If you want to start reading this series, not a good place to start obviously, but for continuing readers its a must buy. While the Brotherhood series follows the manga very well, theres something about reading it in its original form that makes me want to keep buying it. However, if you already own the individual chapters, theres not much point in this.

TO THE NORTH!!
Well this installment was certainly FULL of twists and turns! In this book, Ed and Al travel north to learn the secret to the purification arts, but little do they know that a nasty surprise is waiting within fort briggs for them! This edition was truly amazing and made me drop my jaw more than a few times! I would reccomend this to fans of the anime/manga series as it shows that Hiromu is more than capable of creating massive twists to the plot and that she is a brilliant writer!
