The screws are "bright and shiny", but without certificates on the metallurgy, the claimed type of stainless steel is indeterminate. From my experience in driving the screws, the screws are softer than what should be expected so be careful when driving these long screws and push hard on the drill or the bit will tend to jump out due to the slot giving way easily.Are the screws useable...yes, but with limitation...if you don't mind a few burred slots.

Bought these for inventory, mainly but I'm using then for many projects. The depth of the Phillips head holds the bit well allowing good torque. They have a sharp point which cuts into the wood quickly.Great product.
