moles are going going gone
I applied this about a month ago. My yard had a serious mole infestation. There was a mound every few feet, probably 20 mounds on a yard that isn't very big. The moles have left; no new mounds. I can't say how long the product's effects will last, I will try to come back and update this review at a later date. All natural (important since we have well water) and easy to apply. I'd imagine a spreader would be the best way, but with a small yard and no spreader I simply put on a glove and cast it around by hand.UPDATE 6/18/2013The moles are back so it's time to reapply. I got about 6 weeks of coverage from this purchase. It was somewhat rainy during that time, I would expect to get longer lasting protection through the drier summer months.

Seems like good stuff. However, we still have lots of moles. Will apply some more this week.

The only mole repellent I have found that works well
I have been using Holey Moley for the past several years with great success. I live next to open parkland that is infested with moles. I tried traps, poisons and other spray liquid (castor oil) and power products with limited success. I also use grub killer to rid the mole's food chain as well. Since I have been putting on the Holey Moley every spring, the moles are a distant memory.I found that the trick is to do a wide band around the perimeter of my lot, rather than treating my entire yard. The only bad thing about this this product that when my neighbors saw my success, they started using it too. Then the moles started finding other paths into my yard, so now I treat the entire perimeter including the far front that I had previously not done. But that is a small price to pay for the end result of no moles.

Works as well, if not better than its competitors
Moles are a summer long struggle in my yard. I have found that the trick is to begin putting this stuff down as soon as the snow is off the yard and repeating every four to six weeks, then one last application in the fall just after the leaves are all down and snow is on the way. Also, 10 pounds is supposed to cover 10,000 sq.ft. It doesn't, in my opinion. I buy two 10 pound bags for my 1/3 of an acre yard and that seems to do the trick. I recommend, especially with subsequent applications, start by creating a thicker barrier around the perimeter of the yard, a targeted application over runs and holes, then a lighter application all over the yard. For the application, I use a run of the mill drop spreader.I have found this brand works as well as Sweeney's and almost as well as Scoot Mole (which is difficult to find in granules and I refuse to use the stinky liquid spray). My yard also looks better than my neighbors' who have chosen to go the professional yard service route. I also don't let my dog walk on this until it's been down for 24 hours. I know they say it's pet safe, but castor oil and garlic are stinky and they are still chemicals, so until it's soaked in, my dog wears her hunting boots to go out for her business. For best results, put this down early and often.

Waste
Did not work. Moles are as active as ever. Guy at local hardware store recommended applying grub killer (what moles feed on) in April instead, as mole repellents and traps just don't do the job.

Worked the first time I used it, not after that.
