I found this guide very useful when I was cruising in Buzzard's Bay and Vineyard Sound. While the guide doesn't contain phone numbers or radio channels for the harbormasters, paired with a smart phone you can get most of the info you need. It would be nice if it contained this info as the most recent popular cruising guide for the area was last published around the late 1990s I believe. The visual guides are useful, and the channel markers are helpfully superimposed on the pictures so that you can clearly see where they are located in relation to land. It would be nice also if the anchorages were also marked on the photos so one could gauge their position in relation to the visual markers (obviously mooring fields are easily visible; anchorages less so).

I love this guide! It is a great cruising reference for any port in New England and I love that it has the view I will see from the horizon! The paper is a bit thin so you need to use this in a cabin or on a calm day outdoors. Well worth the purchase and I would by this again in a second!

So this book is focused on great views of the approach with an aerial shot and a chart image for a ton of harbors and anchorages. It is not what I would call a Cruising Guide per se. No phone numbers, no mooring or slip info, no specific marina info. I almost sent this back, but decided to keep it as a companion to my new Maptech Cruising Guide of the New England Coast that I bought afterwards.If you want aerial views for tough approaches, get this. If you want detailed info, get a Maptech Cruising Guide.

I ordered this guide as a complement to other guides we have, and now believe we are going to use it as our primary guide. This seller is recommended.

This book was a scam. I purchased a  A Visual Cruising Guide to the Southern New England Coast: Portsmouth, NH, to New London, CT [[ASIN:0071489193] The front and back cover depict a boaters guide to ports in new England but inside is a complete cartoonish book called "SYMBAROUN" that appears to be some guide to a game of some sort. illustrations of ghouls and strange looking creatures and what their roles in the game is! This was supposed to be a gift. What a total rip off this distributor is!

This is a very easy to follow guide for people cruising southern New England. The pictures are worth a thousand words and the brief write ups are useful.
