Does the job and does it safely. Useless for heavy duty cables - won’t close!
Cheaper to buy here than in high street. The socket will keep all dry but the only down side is that for use with a pressure washer the appliance cable is to thick for use with this socket protector. So in that respect it had to be returned. It’s ok for the thinner flexed appliances like an electric hand drill and similar bench tools used outdoors, but for my purpose - a pressure washer - useless.

Solid and good capacity
Bought this for a heavy duty lead to my car recharging cable. With a little removal of some rubber around the cable entry it was big enough for the large 3-pin plug. Closing properly making fairly weatherproof. Pleased with the purchase.

Pro Elec PEL00953 Rewireable Outdoor 1-Gang Socket
Pro Elec PEL00953 Rewireable Outdoor 1-Gang Socket. The lock on it is of a very poor design it keeps coming off when the cable is moved. The holding clip should be redesigned or a Velcro strap put on for it to stay closed and waterproof.

Item burnt out and welded itself to the plug
I have no reason to doubt its weatherproofing, it seemed to close well enough with a rubber seal. The electrical connections are pretty poor, the clips had to be forced for the pin to connect. However the main problem appeared to be lack of heat sink or any mezns for heat generated to be dissipated. The socket got very hot, the plastic meltded and fused itself to the plug, fortunately it was outside, inside it may have caused a fire.A refute that it is capable of handling 13 Amp, may be ok for charging a phone or the like but totally unsuitable for anything drawing over 2000 watts
