I just had to write a review for this book because one prior reviewer stated that the pics were not that captivating and that they did not demonstrate the story line...she concluded the review with the fact that this book is not one of her favorites. I disagree- this book does indeed have captivating collage pics that go easy on the eyes...Lionni knew how to pick just the right fabric, wallpaper, felt, paper, etc. to make the art interesting, yet understated. One example: when the mice are swimming, you notice the sun-dappled water, and the hill in the pic is covered with green flora (not sure what mediums were used on these pages). And the text does support the pics- so much so that it's right on target. You might have to explain that the big, black apparatus towards the end of the book is a rotary phone with a cord, but that's about it. I believe in commenting/discussing artwork in books with kids, and this book presents that opportunity to do so. Great book that I will keep around for any future grandkids. We are still enjoying this book presently anyway, and my kid is three! (I do not believe in age boundaries for books, and although I sorta loathe board books due to cropped illustrations in some, this book would make a perfect first reader.)

My son loves the objects in the book. Many of the objects are familiar to his (shoe, ball, flower, mouse, etc), so they reinforce the words he is trying to speak.Great for age 18 months - 2.5 years, perhaps older(?) Just a fun book that encourages exploring the world and enjoying everything the day might have to offer. "What are we going to do today?" (In the context of "Let's find something FUN to do!")So much fun!

The collage art is charming. The text is simple and inexplicably seet. My husband and I both enjoy reading it to our son (now 19 months).

OK for a very young child or baby. The pictures are not overly captivating and do not demonstrated the story clear enough to teach with out further explanation. I was a little dissapointed when we read it the first time.

Great baby book. It was one of my daughters first favorites.

８ヶ月の子供の為に購入。絵本が好きなうちの子は、何回も読んでるうちに笑ってくれるようになりました。ボードブックなので破られる心配もなく、触らせてあげられるのもいいです。ただ、ページ同士がくっついていて、商品到着後、無理矢理開いて傷がつきました。乾く前に閉じてくっついたかのようにぴったりくっついていて苦労したので☆−１です。
