It’s worth for the price
Bought this for my brother a couple years ago for Christmas. It’s doing great and holds all of his games as he’s still adding games.

You CAN play x s series games on it
Most people say you can't play x s games on it but that is just what the system tells you. Most x s series games you can play on it you just need to check the type. Look it up it will tell you everything. Best expansion drive I've ever bought for the price.

Nice HD
I purchased this drive before Christmas due to the fact my series X and expansion card we’re getting a little full. I had to return the 1st one in about a week. First off the green light never came on….ever. I let that go cause it was just a cosmetic thing. Then for no reason the drive would just continue to disconnect from my Xbox. Got the new one today and set it up. Low and behold the green light is on….woo hoo lol. I’m in the process of moving some games to it as I write this. Please remember you can’t play series X games directly from this drive. It’s just to store them and to transfer back when your ready to play it again. Believe me the transfer rate is way higher then redownloading it. I hope this review helps someone down the road. I’ll post an update later down the road.

Heavy, must be plugged in, won't play recent titles
I forgot that any HD over 2TB needs an external power source plugged in because USB isn't powerful enough to boot an HD that size. Plus, these pictures don't reveal that the HD needs to be plugged into a socket either. Very misleading. I do give props for this being 8TB, I just can't justify the purchase right now for something that doesn't do what it's advertised that it can do. Even more misleading. But, if you own a ton of old-gen console titles, like all of the old Call of Duty games, and you desperately need tons of space to store it all, and you don't mind it being plugged into the wall, then go for it. But, if you need to download a ton of new titles and you think that's what this can do, wrong. You'll have to transfer your games back and forth from the HD to the Xbox when you're done playing the game and when you want to play it again. Like I said, I can't justify that when I had my hands on the Series S. I returned this HD and the Series S and just bought a PS5, because you can easily insert a cheaper memory card with just a screwdriver and the official playstation YouTube tutorial. 🤷🏻♂️

8tb for the Xbox S/X
I love that you can name this, name a tb what's that ? It's a lot of storage in the PlayStation world, but for the Xbox world it's not at all.

This won't let you play enhanced games
Wish I read the reviews before I bought it. Trusted Samsung claim it's compatible with Xbox series x.It is, but as others have mentioned, it's too slow to play enhanced games and they have to be moved to internal storage / expansion card. It's pointless to download games here only to need to free up space and move them. The product listing does not list the speed of transfer but it's likely below the 5Gbs of usb 3.0.Im going to try an nvme ssd with an enclosure that converts it to USB which should be much faster. If I knew better I wouldn't have bought this.
