Sights & Sounds of Christmas

I was looking for a karaoke DVD that plays the music, shows the words, and that would allow a gathering to sing Christmas Carols.What you get with this is some classic Christmas tunes, but they don't omit the singing. They give you the words (on all but one song, which they expect you to know already) and some of the words are a little surprising. You'll probably run to the internet once or twice to see if the words you thought you knew were correct or if this DVD was correct. Anyway, it's basically sing-along with the singers on the TV.It wasn't a big hit.The extras were very entertaining, because included in the extras is a really old short movie with a Christmas theme. Very dated, and I'm guessing roughly 60-70 years old, and that makes it that much better. One of the kids gets jacked when he figures out he's getting a sled.I know if my kid got a sled and nothing else for Christmas, he'd probably end up bawling, running to his room, and slamming the door. That's Christmas! Buy them just enough gifts so they aren't pissed and disappointed, and throw a great one in there so they get excited when they open it.If you're looking for a DVD that has about 50 songs with the background music and no singing, with words and bouncing ball, and songs spanning the religious and unreligious (First Noel to Rudolph), then move on, as there's nothing to see here.

I was a bit disappointed with this DVD. Some parts of it are excellent -- the music and musicians are, for the most part, top-notch. However, some of the numbers have repetitive on-screen images, and there are a number of classic carol tunes featured for which verses are missing. A lot of the numbers also have an overly sentimental style that shortchanges the musical quality. I definitely fast forward through chunks of this DVD. Probably an octogenarian grandma or grandpa would enjoy this as background company.

I have been looking for this movie for decades.. I can’t believe I found it. When I was a kid my family watched this all season long every Christmas, we loved it. Had it on VHS but just the second half. This dvd has a whole other half I never knew of but to see this again brought tears to my eyes. So glad something so old and rare is still available and transferred to dvd format so now my little girl can grow up watching it too. Thank you so much WonderBook, you’ve made my year! this was fun for about an hour during Xmas. Put it in our DVD player and just used the Karaoke machine to provide amplified mic and sound. Good DVD, some of the songs felt a but dated to me though

Exactly as I expected.

I ordered this dvd several weeks before Christmas. Even though the vendor was approximately 200 miles away, I failed to receive it in time for Christmas. There was no shipping or tracking information sent and no way to communicate with the shipper. Amazon should be more careful when picking vendors and should fire this one. This is the worst service I have ever received from any online vendor ever!

I was very excited about this item until we received it. The description doesn't really tell you what your getting. It's not "fun". It's very church choir like. Not good for christmas parites, which is what I wanted it for. Very disappointed,waste of money.

Was ok, watched it once and put it in library

Not quite what I had in mind for a seniors' Christmas gathering. I simply wanted a selection of Christmas songs with the lyrics scrolling along to help them with the singing. The DVD player that was available made editing for our purposes difficult. It was a good try!
