DNF 😔
I so badly wanted to like this book but the fact that it’s only in the girls pov kept me from actually enjoying the book. Which is sad because from the description it sounded like it could’ve been good. Also the fact that there are like 5 books for ONE storyline is insane, that’s waaayyyy too long… imo.

Jack can be an ACES-hole~
Jack's acting like we think all professional athletes act and she's trying to keep him out of the headlines. Unfortunately, Jack has good reason to drink to escape his life...his fiancee he doesn't even like. And it was another one of those nights no protection was used. Do a lot of people still have unprotected one-night stands or casual sex? Well, now Jack is the father of a beautiful baby boy that no one seems to lavish love on except the nanny. He holds the baby once in this book. None of the carousing has stopped and he still flirts with every woman in his general vicinity. So that pretty much summarizes book one of this series before it crashes into book two.

Kate and Jack!
When the family that Kate has been nannying for relocates not only does her job end but her living arrangements as well. She finds herself living with her best friend and her fiancé and having difficulties finding a job until the Vegas Aces hires her as a behavioral coach for one of their players.Jack is the star quarterback who has recently been traded to the Aces however between the recent passing of his father, a fiancé he doesn’t want, an infant son he adores and his father-in-law to be the owner of the team he now finds himself playing for he has his hands full. Finding out that someone has been hired to keep him out of trouble was bad enough but finding out it is the woman he shared a steamy encounter with that didn’t end well makes it even worse. In this series you get to see a much better version of the Jack that we knew in the Vegas Aces series and Kate’s sassy personality shines through and leaves us wanting to know what the future holds for both of these characters.

is Jack redeemable?
This series is Jack’s story. He was a terrible jerk in Luke’s series. There seems to be a bit of remorse for that.Jack is still a jerk here, mostly. He has moments of non-jerkitude though.Kate had a one night stand with him. That she takes a job to “babysit” his behavior is the set up for this series.Ends on a big cliffhanger.

This series builds on the Dalton family, this time focusing on the league’s hottest quarterback.IN TRADED, BOOK ONE:The series opens on Halloween, before the close of Luke and Ellie’s series. Jack had learned that he will become a father just a month ago, and more recently his father passed away. He has been making a series of bad choices since. He makes another bad choice on Halloween – and this one goes viral.Kathryn Elizabeth Harmon, twenty-five, has a plan. With the Van Astors moving to Hartford, Connecticut, though, her plan hits a snag. She studied psychology at UNLV before taking a job as a school psychologist. It didn’t take her long to realize that in reality, she was utilized mostly as an extra body to help with guidance counselors and paper pushing. Disillusioned, she took the opportunity to become a live-in nanny for the Van Astor family. She quickly learned the financial advantages of living with her employers, and she saw an opportunity to save up while reevaluating her career. Kennedy was in her charge, and the family expanded when Miles was born. Kate fell in love with Miles instantly, learning she had a love of babies. But it was Mrs. Van Astor that really inspired her. Kate has learned a lot watching Mrs. Van Astor run her own interior design firm for the past two years. Now, Kate is attending classes online on a part-time basis. If she keeps it up, she will have earned a second degree, one in interior design, in just eighteen months. With the savings she is accumulating, she hopes to open her own firm. But with the Van Astors suddenly leaving town, Kate needs a new job – and a place to live – fast. Otherwise, she just might end up back in Kansas with her parents and pressured to take over the family diner in her tiny hometown.Jack Dalton, thirty-three and the star quarterback of the Denver Broncos, has had an eventful year. Blood really is thicker than water as the Dalton family rebuilds following tragedy. After years of mean-spirited competition, Jack and Luke are finally putting the past behind them. As Luke’s happy ending began to take shape, however, Jack’s life seemed to be veering out of control. He finds himself about to become a father after some casual fun with Luke’s manipulative ex-girlfriend, Michelle Bennett. He wants to do the right thing, but he is feeling suffocated. He isn’t quite sure how Luke ever put up with Michelle. The league’s superstar quarterback has long played the field, enjoying his independence and the accolades he’s earned. His talent is unquestionable, but it took years of hard work and dedication to get him where he is today. His ability to command is tangible, both on and off the field. On the field, he is decided and precise. Off the field, he plays hard, but about five months ago he began to get careless. With the birth of his son in December, Jack’s whole world changed. Everything is about Jack Alexander Dalton Junior now, or JJ. But as he finds himself traded in the off-season to the Vegas Aces of all places – Luke’s team – and beholden to Michelle’s father’s good graces, he realizes that his professional career is now on the line. His personal and professional life begin to blur. He is on the edge, and everything is at risk if he doesn’t please Calvin Bennett. That is when Kate enters Jack’s life – again and again. Fate seems to have a mind of its own and a sense of humor with these two as they are thrown together under the most uncomfortable of circumstances. Calvin hires Kate to be his future son-in-law’s behavior coach and to keep him out of trouble as he joins the Aces’ roster. Little does Calvin know that the pair has a history together, brief as it may be. While that one night might have been par for the course for Jack, for Kate it was a different story. It was supposed to have been a night to help her get past her boyfriend Blake, a way to regain a little self-esteem. Instead, it shredded it to pieces. She might have grown up an Aces fan, but she is no fan of the arrogant and condescending new quarterback.Jack is an engaged man in this book, betrothed to the mother of his child. Kate and Michelle couldn’t be more different. Michelle is high-strung and always dressed to be seen. Kate is down-to-earth and unpretentious. The contrast is stark. Jack and Kate have an often contentious relationship here, but as their jobs force them to spend time together, they learn that they might not hate one another after all. This book ends with a huge cliffhanger, keeping the reader in suspense. Jack and Kate’s story continues in book two, Tackled.Wow! Fans of Luke and Ellie’s series may be apprehensive about how Jack’s story can be pulled off, but I assure you it works. By the time you get to book five, you will be rewarded with a wonderful story. Just be patient. Jack was the devil incarnate In Luke’s story, but his chickens came home to roost when he learned that his tryst with Luke’s ex would link him to the vile Michelle for the rest of his life via their child. This doesn’t seem like a logical beginning for a happy ending – it is hard to imagine Michelle ever changing her ways. Jack wanted to do right by his son and proposed to Michelle when JJ was born in December, but by March we learn that things are not happy in paradise. Unlike Jack, Michelle doesn’t seem to be capable of changing her stripes.Still, Jack finds himself in an impossible position once Calvin brings him to Las Vegas to play. He is owned by his future father-in-law. His career could be sabotaged if he fails to please Calvin or Michelle. He has goals outside of football, but he depends upon his salary. He needs the inheritance his father left him more than ever, and that had certain conditions that must be met. Getting that money will give him back a sense of control in his life. Falling for Kate, however, could ruin all his carefully laid plans. This is a crowded love story. Jack is far from free. And a romance with anyone but Michelle is definitely out of bounds. Jack and Kate’s story is a forbidden romance. It is also a fake relationship romance in more ways than one! Despite what he thinks, Jack isn’t entirely different than Luke in that sense. When Kate begins work as Jack’s behavior coach, her job is to help him learn to make better choices. However, she soon finds herself in a moral dilemma. She isn’t sure who her client really is – Jack or Calvin Bennett. And if she gives Jack her honest advice, she might just find herself out of a job. Interestingly, there are others in the story who would benefit more from her guidance – including tight end Ben Olsen. Ben is a riot. Jack’s old friend has also just transferred to the Aces, and trouble seems to follow him. Might he be in line for his own story in season three? Jack and Ben’s friendship leads to lots of crazy antics. Strip clubs, drunk cornhole, and a houseboat party – along with plenty of betting – really lighten the story. They behave like frat brothers. But Jack is complicated. He is often arrogant and condescending. As a professional, he is charismatic and charming, always under control. But away from the spotlight, he is introspective. This is a side he reserves only for his inner circle, though. He is protective of his privacy. As Kate begins to see the many facets of his personality, her preconceived ideas about who he is and what motivates him to begin to change. But even as her attraction to him returns, she doesn’t forget that he is spoken for. This story has Jack in dire straits, but it is riddled with light-hearted moments, too. The various references to orange Gatorade, Motley Crue, Sin City Crue (for fans), Kitty, Dunkin’, Kia, and a viral cat meme keep the story playful. There is a little closure to be found here for the Dalton family, as Carol and Kaylee play a small role once again. With both of them moving to Las Vegas, one has to wonder if there might be a third series featuring the Dalton sister! Luke and Ellie become part of the story as well. This second season with the Aces feels a little bit like coming home.I enjoy the idea that Jack’s story is somewhat familiar. It is a different Dalton story, but the same horrible woman is still in the picture due to a baby. Both brothers felt pressured to please Calvin, the owner, due to a relationship with his daughter, Michelle. The Dalton family is the same, but the dynamics feel entirely different following their loss. They have moved forward. And of course, the brothers are mending their relationship. Luke was more of an introvert, which isn’t really the case with Jack. So in that way things differ. Ellie and Kate both end up having a one-night stand of sorts with their man prior to living and working for/with them. Each obviously must deal with the idea of her man having a child with another woman. Luke turned out not to be the father of Michelle’s baby, so for him and Ellie life returned to normal. Here Jack must forge some kind of relationship with Michelle in order to do what is best for his son, JJ, and also ensure that Calvin doesn’t purposely tank his career. That complicates things for him and Kate right from the start.Reading about Jack getting sucked into the drama with Michelle, Calvin, and the Aces feels like a seamless transition. Michelle is a pill! I was indeed anxious to see how she would come across in this new series and how Jack and Michelle would work out as a couple. It seemed hopeless. The idea of totally transforming Michelle wouldn’t have been credible. I like what was done here, though. It is much more believable and very realistic – maybe aside from the whole one-night stand turning into a live-in babysitter job part! That part, however, is a lot of fun so it works well.Jack and Kate’s story gets off to a turbulent start! There is plenty of chemistry as well as zany action that lightens the mood as the tension builds between the pair. Normally very controlled, Jack is a bit unpredictable after a series of poor decisions. He is also engaged to Michelle. Kate knows from the outset that any attachment to him will only end with a broken heart. She cannot afford to let her guard down – she needs to keep her job. She is focused on her goals for now and isn’t interested in causing more damage to her bruised ego. Their story will have a few more crazy surprises along the way. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are carefully crafted and real. It is written in first person from Kate’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jack is Back! He has been Traded
We met Jack in the last series, his brother was the main character, and now it is Jack’s turn. This will be a series of five books and will end on cliffhangers, and you will want more!Jack has been traded from Denver to Vegas, but still acting like a petulant child, future father-in-law and team owner hires him a babysitter. It gets complicated quickly as the babysitter, Kate, has a history with Jack Dalton. As this story is told from her point of view, we only know her side and some of his. She is shadowing his antics as his “personal Assistant.” Unfortunately, his behavior is not making her job easy. The way this installment ends has me glad we get the next book, the same day!Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Okay read but the story is a bit messy
Katie meets the star quarterback Jack in a nightclub and ends up in a private suite upstairs were she has sex with him and as soon as they finish he wants rid as his girlfriend is in the club. She is mortified that he has a girlfriend but she did throw herself at him so I dont know why she thought she was suddenly going to be something special. A new job working for the football team has her back in Jack's sphere, she has to keep an eye on him because he has gone off the rails a bit. She is part of his chaotic life were he is marrying Michelle who used to be his brothers girlfriend and they have a baby. Luke, his brother also has an ex wife in this story and its a bit farcical.

Enjoyed book, I like that she has morals. The book ends as cliffhanger as didn't realise it was broken into a series of books.
