The Paper Daughters of Chinatown

This was a very interesting story about a situation I knew nothing about and also a very courageous woman that I had ever heard of.

What an amazing story! I had no idea about the history of Chinatown, but I was not surprised. Moore tells the story clearly and without unnecessary emotion. What an inspiring woman Donaldina Cameron was! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

A detailed account of one brave woman who risked her life many times to save Chinese girls in San Fransisco.

The most sad thing about this is that this book is set in the late 1800's/early 1900's and this same thing is still happening. People are still being taken from their homes and sold into terrible circumstances.This book is a beautiful telling of someone that tried to help in some small way people that were in this circumstance. Kids that had been stolen, promised things that were not delivered.What a beautifully written story. It opened my heart and mind into situations that I can hopefully help. I would recommend this book for others.

Selfless and determined to battle the horrendous evil of human trafficking!

This book is absolutely wonderful! The subject of human trafficking is horrific and the main protagonist in the book dedicated her entire life to rescuing women and children from the evil of human trafficking. This is a book that will stay with me forever and I applaud all those on the front lines of serving and saving survivors.

The story was interesting about a less known experiences of Chinese women sold by Chinese gangs in the San Francisco are during the last part of the 19th century. I gave it just 3 stars because the writing was mediocre at best.

I loved reading about Donaldina Cameron, and I think the whole world should know about her. The book is beautifully written about a very strong woman, who has a caring heart and an unbelievable amount of courage. I love a book that I have to go to Google, the second I finish and look up all the characters. If you are still reading this I hope you purchase it! If you live in San Francisco…even better!
