Sunny, Vol. 6 (6)

Simply beautiful.

A quiet, upbeat ending to this beautiful series. The positive emotions are different than the rest of the series' dark atmosphere. The major theme here is going home; two of the inhabitants run away and have a road trip adventure as they head for their real homes. Things work out, not perfectly, but ok. And the book ends with a "graduation" for a girl who is going home to not her parents but an aunt and uncle. Finally, we are left that with some of the kids the orphanage will always be their home. This is not the best book in the series, by any means, but it is a gentle ending to a series that got quite tragic at times.

Sunny is my favorite series and I'm sad to see it end but this was a great way to end the series. Even though Haruo Megumu and Sei leave the home I feel it was done for good reasons and what is best for the characters. The series still ends with all the kids at the home and it's very good to see. All the stories before the big finale was great and some of my favorite in the series. I look forward to reading this series again and again til infinity
