It includes a thermoswitch, which turns the fans on when needed and off at other times.A raised airchamber base lets the fan remove air from the entire vent area (9.75" x 2.1") under the mounting plate.The system has a multi-speed power transformer, which plugs into an AC outlet.The fan adds only 3/4 inch to the DVR's width, and only needs another 1/4 inch for airflow (1 inches total).Even when running at 2/3 speed, this fan unit can move a volume of air equal to least 5 times your Dish Hopper DVR per minute. THE COOLING SYSTEM INCLUDES: 1 x dual-50mm (two fans) DISH Hopper DVR fan unit, 1 x thermoswitch (installed), 1 x multi-speed power transformer, and printed installation instructions. All cooling system parts connect together using special heavy-duty Molex quick-connect plugs, which allows the parts to be separated for easy wire-routing. SETUP: The fan unit attaches to the side of your DVR, using special adhesive snap-lock pads. You don't need to drill any holes -- just press the unit over the side air vents, and the pads will hold it in position. Great product
This vent fan cooling unit for the Hopper is underrated! Follow the ample and easy to understand instructions and your DVR will be cooler in minutes. Really all you have to do is slap it on and plug it in!The parts appear to be quality and the literature that comes with the unit leads me to believe it.Good, solid product that is worth the money. If I tried to cobble something like this together, I would probably spend just as much and it wouldn't be as nice looking.Great job.

Cooled down my Hopper 3
this fan is awesome! My Hopper 3 just kept overheating, even on standby it was warm to the touch, and this works perfectly to keep it cool. Easy to install, and very well made.
