Good cup of tea. Enjoy!
Enjoying my second cup right now. Brewed tea is very clean tasting. No evidence of “dust” though I rinsed tea leaves before brewing. It is easy to break Tea leaves off tea cake if use a knife and start at the edge of the “nest.” Need to get back to drinking my tea :-) Will buy again.Update: I continue to enjoy this tea. It is not bitter after 3 or 4 infusions. Has pleasant after taste that lasts long after finishing cup. It has a subtle taste that deepens after tea begins to cool. Some reviews critical of too many stems...I This is a 14 yr old cake and looks like leaves have broken away from some stems. Looked at tea leaves after brewing this morning. I had to carefully unfold leaves to avoid breaking. For the price of this every day tea I have no criticism. It’s a pleasure for me to drink. I’m an avid strong coffee drinker. I am surprised that since drinking this tea I have not craved my morning coffee. I do have a pleasant alert feeling after drinking this tea.I broke up the tea cake after looking at some YouTube videos. Don’t know if that is necessary but had to try. I think I’m Now going to brew a fresh cup and get back to my workTHIRD MORNING BREW: brewed another section of tea cake and found larger leaves. There were more leaves but too fragile to unfold or in roll...flavor was fuller. Fun to see what is inside the cake :-)

I just got it, and have already bought another cake
This is a very good, entry level, ripe pu'erh cake at a very decent price! Although I've been drinking and loving tea for decades, I'm essentially new to pu'erh teas, but this stands out so much among the ones I've tried so far, that even though I know I have more to try, I bought another cake. There is absolutely no hint of mustiness. The initial impression has punch, somewhat similar to a good coffee, but with more subtlety, and with smokiness, a strong hint of mushrooms, something reminiscent of walking in a forest the day after it has rained, and an aftertaste of honey. Subsequent steepings gradually lose the bracing effect, but become increasingly calming and centring, with a mild taste which still has the sweetness of honey.

Worst Pu-Erh I've had. Bitter and harsh.
Starting with opening, the brick has an authentication stamp. But instead of being the typical type with metallic strips, its just a piece of printed paper which sticks to the tea, leaving whatever adhesive and paper/inks behind on your tea. Then you break into the brick, tons of stems for starters. But its when the tea touches the water that you get to really smell it. Nasty is all I can think of, kind of putrid for lack of a better word. The taste is the worst pu-erh I've ever had. Typically nice pu-erh tea (and at this price range, this should be a nice tea) is very smooth, with mild smell. This is harsh in both smell and taste. Kind of woody, but bitter and just plain gross. For the price, this should be a nice, delicate, smooth tea. It is not. Just keep on looking and try other ones. This one doesn't fit the bill.

Rather harsh woody flavor to it.
I by no means consider my self a connoisseur of what’s good Puerh and what’s not.Although I have in my years drank ripe puerh brewed from many different Puerh cakes I’ve purchased.I really wanted to like this one. I’m not saying it’s bad quality. Some might like it a lot, as some other reviews clearly show. Please do try it yourself as to make up your mind about it. You might like this one.But personally, it isn’t my favorite Puerh. I know very well that Puerh has woody mushroomy flavors. That, I often like. But this one, the specific woodish flavor it has is rather off putting for my personal taste.I’ll have to go and buy another cake of the Puerh I usually drink.

Great tea with pungent and earthy essence
I’m new to Puerh Tea but not new to teas. This cake or “Bing” has a rather earthy smell that I’m told by folks here in Japan is preferred when considering this type of tea. I steep this tea in a Japanese 10oz cast iron tetsubin in the tradition of rinsing the tea twice before steeping. There are plenty of YouTube videos on the subject. I really like this tea. The earthiness and pungent flavors really stand out and sets this tea apart. It took a few sips to appreciate what this tea had to offer. But now I’m hooked. I really don’t understand the negative reviews. I guess they were unsure of what they had or how to brew this tea. I’m sure that there’s better Puerhs out there and I’m sure to find them.

Very tasty shu puerh
This is a very good shu puerh. I will certainly buy it again. The negative reviews make no sense at all and probably were written by people who have no clue what puerh is or how to drink it. I have been a fan of puerh teas for more than 20 years. This isn't the greatest, but it is quite good and gets better with each infusion. It's a small bing, but probably big enough for about 40 servings. The price is very fair for this quality and with Amazon prime, it comes in 2 days.

Failure to Deliver
I have ordered this product multiple times. I have no issues with quality or taste. That is why I have ordered it 12 times over the years. However, this is the second time that the product failed to be delivered. There is no recourse for this. That is $80 right out the window.

Smells like goats, tastes like heaven
So I'm one of the strange people on whom Pu-Erh has a fun effect. I drank it during a lab once and don't remember anything except I came back the next week and discovered I didn't do half the experiment. In all seriousness, the tea tastes great, and immediately everyone knows I'm making it because my whole house smells like a goat barn. But I can't really break the brick by myself so I give it 3 stars on the packaging. Lots of tea for the price. Each pot brews two times and it's almost as strong. 10/10 I recommend
