Pretty good
The remote control doesn't allow you to toggle the oscillation off or on, that requires pushing/lifting a pin behind the fan.The three modes don't really do anything interesting. There are two modes that are the same but one is quite (seems the same to me) and one mode just toggles the speed up and down to simulate wind which someone probably would like.Assembly is easy, but I have no idea how they had the screw and nut packed. But I had to sift through a pile of trash to find it randomly on the floor. So don't open this box in the grass or you will probably lose the screw. It puts out a good bit of air and makes my patio comfortable to chill on.The blue led is not very bright. Considering this is an outdoor fan it could probably stand to be even brighter to see it in bright sunny days.Overall it is a nice fan though.

Breaks after 9 months - warranty is a nightmare
I will start by saying that when this fan worked, I absolutely loved it. Sadly after about 9 months it started beeping randomly and turning on and off by itself. The fan is "covered" by a 12 month warranty so I contacted Rowenta. They had me ship the fan to them in the beginning of July to be repaired. After a month and having to follow up twice, I received the fan back. Seemed like it was going to work okay. Two days later, it starts beeping and turning on and off by itself, and the power button stops working again. I contact Rowenta hoping at this point they will just send me a new unit. Nope, they want me to send the fan back to them AGAIN so they can keep it for another month and probably send me back the same broken fan, at which point my warranty will be up. They do NOT stand behind their products.

It is a fan, mostly made of plastic
Could use better assembly instructions, but managed to assemble by myself. It has fan noise which I rather like, it isn't whisper quiet. Moves air well on the Outside Mode setting. Bought it for my screened porch. $192.11 with tax. Haven't figured out how to raise and lower it for height adjustment. Oscillates well. Love that it is on wheels that can lock in place, albeit plastic wheels, so not sure how long they will last. Also has timer on it for 1hr, 2hr, 4hr, and 8hr settings. Never heard of Rowenta before. Only took 8 days to receive it after ordering. Gave it overall 4 stars bc of mostly plastic , not like my old all metal outdoor fan I used to have.

Outdoor extreme fan "Can withstand the average LIGHT rain shower."
I had already assembled the fan when I discovered the phrase in the User's manual that "It can withstand the average light rain shower." To what does extreme refer in "Outdoor extreme fan"? I did not want to try to disassemble and repack it. In addition, the alternative outdoor fans were much more expensive, so I kept it.Other issues: 1) I read that the fan should not be used with an extension cord due to the GFI, but I can't find it again in the User's manual. The power cord should be longer if an extension is not allowed. 2) The tiny screw need to fasten the outer shroud was loose in one of the large plastic wrappers. I had a terrible time finding it. The screw should be in an envelope.

This new extreme fan has wire grill.
This fan is supposed to be for outdoor use on covered and protected patios. The extreme fan has a metal wire grill in the back half. The front half is an oversized plastic grill. Rowenta's product description does not mention a metal grill, but it's the same grill as their other models. Our previous Rowenta fans inside our home have metal grills and they corroded terribly within 3 months. The fans work but the corrosion is unsightly and the fan blows rust particles. After three months, they're unsanitary because of the heavy rust. Corrosion is an ongoing issue with Rowenta fans for years and years and Rowenta is NOT LISTENING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND FORMER CUSTOMERS. We returned the Rowenta Extreme fan immediately after it arrived because we knew it would rust soon.
