Culture series 1 : 5 books collection iain m banks set

Having casually picked up the first in the series to pass the time on a long flight, I was instantly hooked and am currently devouring the rest of this "Culture" series. Fabulously imaginative stories with great characters and writing that is off the chart - at times so unexpectedly prosaic that I find myself pausing and re-reading to admire the writing.
