Anyone who is beginning watercolor needs to invest in Kolbie’s books. This is the second book in her series and it is just has good as the first. She takes you step by step through over 20 waterscape paintings each one building on the last skill you’ve learned. Her instructions are super simple with lots of pictures. Watercolor was a struggle for me until I found her books. I now have paintings I can be proud of.

Easy to understand, helpful tips for beginners

I love this book so much it's my second book by her and it has changed the way I look at Art in so many ways it's made me feel like an artist even though I'm only an amateur it's giving me hope to feel like I'm actually good at something I never thought I could be good at and I have to say I love her attitude how she explains things step by step and it's just a lot of fun and it's a great therapy also it's become a passion of mine I will never not practice art for the rest of my life because it is truly a passion no and I'm so thankful for the author of this book I have her other book and she has a new one coming out which I plan to get in September highly highly highly recommend if you're interested in art and you want to learn even if you don't know anything buy this book

East to follow concepts and instructions. Great section for true beginners which I found helpful. She helps with creating beautiful washes and layers, adding nice textures as well. Her watercolor tutorials are the best I've found on Amazon!

A great reference book for all levels of Watercolor! Very easy to understand, great reference pics.

I like the way this book is leading me through the basics and then giving me assignments and showing the steps. It's very helpful.

I was already a follower & student of Kolbie’s at the time of purchase .While it’s easier to follow her videos, having a book for whenever the internet doesn’t work is amazing. And even better! I’ve followed the first two tutorial in it and the simplest things are actually the hardest. But she teaches self compassion and creative freedom too! Embrace the mess! Embrace the imperfections!I actually have the Kindle version, as I work at sea. The digital book is high quality, you can zoom in on the images to see the detail she is teaching and it is easy to use even on a phone!The book is definitely beginner friendly even though the subject sounds complicated. The sea is broken down, the palettes are easy and I’m learning a lot through every stroke!
