I purchased this and the ink that came with it does not fit the pen? Am I doing something wrong?

I got a message, though that said that only 1 of the 8 pens I ordered all arrive next week but the other 7 will arrive in December? That's a problem.

I have a bit of arthritis in the hand, and am looking for a fountain pen that is going to provide a grip. Does the matte finish offer that?
