For your Pleasure, get yourself Under Exposed!
I saw David Bowie for the first time when I was 12. The support band was Roxy Music. While we waited outside for my dad to pick us up, the band were hanging outside waiting for their lift. We went to a repeat concert a few weeks later. Roxy Music, having leapt speedily into TOTP land with Virginia Plain, were no longer supporting. So it was with a glow of warmth and nostalgia that I deep dived into Roxy Live UnderExposed. It is a very glossy high end beautiful “coffee table book” And so much more. It is about one girl’s loyalty and love for a band she saw locally decades ago, how she was inspired, how she kept it going, how she kept it real. These are all Jocelyn’s own photographs, taken with all sorts of cameras, ranging from the Kodak Instamatic to the Iphone 12. Lovingly preserved, beautifully presented. From the beginning it captures what it feels like to be a teenage fan. Chronicling the rise of Jocelyn’s interest, it grows as Jocelyn’s fandom grows, telling stories, sharing shots, keeping it human and humorous. It is mind- blowing how many gigs she went to, (still goes to) how she followed the tours, kept up with the Look with the help of her trusty Singer sewing machine, how she found ways in to get to know the band members, the family, entourage. As well as stunning images, all taken with a fan’s eye at gigs spanning Years and Continents, there is more to delight as you enter her world of treasured tickets, contemporary cartoons, personal snaps and revealing anecdotes. There is even a guess the lyric quiz! The book hits all the sweet spots of a generation. Glam, style, comedy, obsession, practicality, and salt of the earth observations.Buy UnderExposed, pick an outfit from your favourite era, whack on your album of choice (preferably on your record deck) and immerse yourself in the joy of superfandom.

The Perfect Visual History of Roxy Music Live
This book is so Roxy Music. It looks and feels like a Roxy Music album from the first page to the last. It covers the band live from the Stranded tour right up to the recent and highly praised Roxymphony show in London. As well as the intimate photographs of one of this country's most influential bands, Jocelyn's words are scattered across the pages providing a personal insight into the band and her relationship with it and the music. It is a tour de force and a crucial addition to the band's history.Ferry sang that he tried but could not find way.Jocelyn has tried and found a way to capture the coolest band on the planet. Its marvellous./

A pictorial treasure chest
A simply wonderful collection of snaps, plus commentary, from Roxy and solo concerts between 1972 - 1982. I am a late-comer to Roxy, only starting to appreciate them in 1979. How I wish I had attended the earlier concerts. And now I have, thanks to Jocelyn's beautiful book. :-)
