I figured what a deal! 2 for less than 80 bucks with magnetic thermometers. With first use on the wood stove, it seemed to be working well. Once the stove was up to the safe burning temp (for minimal creosote) I noticed that after a couple hours the entire base of the unit had discolored and the fan was no longer functioning. I took the fan off, allowed it to cool down, then tried bringing it up to temp again and it did not work any longer. My guess is the part that converts the temperature differential into electricity is NOT able to withstand the temperatures from a wood stove. I don't let me woodstove get over temp. If these cannot withstand a woodstove being at clean burning temp OR one that might go overtemp by accident one time, then it shouldnt be sold.When i went to return, I was told it was a non returnable item - luckily I worked with amazon customer support who refunded my cost, so I did have a good end.

We are heating our 1200 sq ft home with a wood stove and this really helped get the heat to move into the kitchen and partly into our bedroom. It is supper quiet and it is moving a good amount of air but you don't feel it like a normal fan which is what you want. It made it though our first winter without any issues. I am not so sure about the temperature gage that comes with it, doesn't seem like it might be right but that could be also user error.

This was purchased as a gift for my father who has a wood stove that is centrally located in his house. He uses this fan to push more heat to his living room. It works well AND..takes zero power to operate! That’s a win.

The unite worked well when I first got it. (1 year since I purchased, only used it last winter). This winter just started using the stove again and the fan fell off. I cannot figure how the fan held on. A small hole is on the side but no screw to hold it in place. I tried putting a screw in the side hole, but I don't even know if this is what holds it into place. Didn't work.

Don’t waste your time. Bought one, it did not work at all. Retuned it for another, it worked a week and stopped
