Best anti-brassy shampoo I've tried.
This shampoo goes a long way and really does the job to remove the brassy look of blonde or highlighted hair. It smells nice, lathers well and really cleans your scalp as well. ULTA sells this for 7.99 I think so I got a good deal at 5.99 and Prime shipping. This brand is so worth a try if you haven't yet. I've tried the Clairol and the generic purple shampoo that Sally Beauty sells, but this one definitely makes your scalp feel clean and your hair smoother and easier to comb out. This brand has a conditioner to go with it, but I haven't tried that yet. I'm using up some Fructis by Garnier conditioner in a huge pump bottle I got from Sam's Club. I use very little of that just on the mid section to ends of my hair and so I still have a lot left before I try the conditioner that compliments "Not Your Mother's..." brand.

Great scent, affordable, prevents brassiness
I have medium/light colored blonde hair that gets brassy easily. This purple shampoo definitely helps reduce brassiness. I like to apply and let the product sit like a toner before rinsing out. Works great immediately after coloring hair when hair is pourous and will absorb the tint to counteract brassines. The scent is great too. I would definitely rank this against some of the higher end more expensive brands in regards to its ability to reduce brass color at a fraction of the cost.

Great color depositing shampoo for going from brassy dyed to natural white, grey and cool brown
I used this shampoo as an aid in letting my natural color hair (white in the front, the rest grey scattered throughout dark cool brown). I had been coloring it dark ash blonde all over for years, so without monthly touch ups it became brassy and downright ugly. This shampoo cooled down the brass, blending it into the darker hair beautifully. The color builds up with each shampoo; Now that all the dyed hair has grown out (short, layered cut helped hasten the process) I use this only once a week or so to keep the greys sparkling. Because the color is so intense compared to other color depositing shampoos, such as Shiny Silver, I use it on the white in the front sparingly and for a shorter period of time than the rest. I do use the Shiny Silver Mousse for styling, however, which adds just the right amount of conditioning and control. I wash my hair the other 6 days with a sulphate-free thickening shampoo for L'Oreal (green tube - smells like rosemary and mint) and use just a dab of the matching conditioner.

Works well!
I use other Not Your Mother's products, and this one is just as good as all the others. I have dark blonde hair with bleached highlights, and this shampoo does a nice job keeping my hair toned and from going brassy. At this price point, I would've expected mediocre results, but instead I would say it's comparable to Clairol's Shimmer Lights shampoo, but smells way better! I use it twice a week and have not experienced any over-toning or purplish hue, just a nice cool blonde effect.

A must for Ash Blond or Highlighted Hair
I'm naturally ash blond, have gotten darker over the years, so yes I have resorted to highlighting to get my original color back. This product keeps my highlights fresh and bright between appointments. I personally wouldn't use it more than once a week and allows follow with a moisturizing mask. This products is not moisturizing as such, nor do I think it is meant to be. It is meant to keep your hair from getting brassy.

It really does work!
It does exactly what it claims to do, I use it twice, sometimes even just once a week and it takes any brassiness right out of my hair. I bleached my hair blonde from dark brown in February and thanks to this stuff I haven't had to bleach or touch it up again. It smells strongly of violets, but it's a pleasant smell as long as florals don't bother you. Either way, it smells a lot better than most products of this type!

Not really for strawberry blondes.
I have naturally strawberry blonde hair. I get a lot of product build up, so I thought this would be great for neutralizing some of the more copper-blonde to get me to more of a reddish blonde. Honestly--- can't tell a difference at all. My hair still matches my extensions, so I don't think there's any change. This is probably better for platinum hair that turns brassy.

This is the only blonde shampoo that you will need ...
This is the only blonde shampoo that you will need. Do not bother wasting your money on L'Oreal's or John Freida's blonde shampoos. This shampoo is very dark purple in pigment (this shampoo is literally the color of the bottle) where as the L'Oreal and John Freida is light purple in color. Not your Mothers Blonde shampoo is the only shampoo in this price rang that will tone out any brassiness in 3 USES.
