Eric Carle's Opposites (The World of Eric Carle)

4 y/o twin grandchildren.

I am always looking for Eric Carle books to include in our library for the preschool classes in out school. I thought this would make a nice addition since our four year olds learn about opposites. The examples of opposites are fine. It's the binding that is my problem with the book. It is advertised as a hardcover book, yet it has a padded cover. These do not hold up well in a school library. I have had problems before with other vendors selling board books as hardcovers, but not Amazon. I am dissappointed

I love any Eric Carle book, the pictures are great. Not too great for small kids, these are paper pages and fold-out pages which have been getting torn and folded the wrong way. For smaller children I would stick to the board books.

I have 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years. The only ones who don't love Eric Carle's books are the 3-month-old twins (but it won't be long until they're hooked too). This one is especially appropriate for the toddlers. Great illustrations (of course) and flaps to open keep them engaged, as well as introducing them to the idea of opposites. Delightful for me too!

I picked this book up for my 2 year old, thinking she would get into in at a later age. She surprised me by picking up the pairings after a few reads! While she may not understand the concept of opposites just yet, she loves this book (as she does all Eric Carle's books).

Eric Carle is one of my favorite children's authors! His fabulous pictures capture the attention and curiosity of little people. My 2 year old son and I reach for his work often. "Opposites" is a wonderful introduction to the artful world of Eric Carle and this important concept. :)

My daughter loves lifting the flap to discover the opposite. I love Eric Carle's artwork and bright colors and the puffiness of the book cover.

My 20 month old got this book, and we maybe should have put it up a little while til she was older. She ripped one of the pages, but other than that, it's a colorful book. We love anything by Eric Carle!

Abbastanza inutile... per prima cosa manca BIG/SMALL, c'è solo nella copertina!!Poi cose poco "utili" per i young learners.Gli opposti presenti sono:day/nightup/downyoung/oldshort / longawake/asleep (con un signore anziano che dorme o è sveglio)high/low (con dei grattacieli e una casetta di campagna, poco poco comprensibile)wet/drye manca il bellissimo elefante e il topino della copertina. Che delusione!

Se i vostri bambini hanno più di 4 anni lasciate perdere questo libro e le recensioni che leggete qui. Sono poche pagine di un libricino con disegni non particolarmente brillanti in cui ci sono gli opposti "pesante/leggero" "giovane/anziano" "chiaro/scuro". Giusto per bimbi molto piccini, per il resto non lo consiglio, finisce subito e non colpisce.

Es ideal para aprender vocabulario, las ilustraciones como he dicho en otras ocasiones me encantan. Eric Carle es un maestro de los libros para niños sabe transmitir la magia que lleva dentro.

Minha filha tem um ano e este livro é ideal para crianças maiores, pois as páginas precisam ser desdobradas e são grandes.Minha filha já rasgou as páginas, muito rapidamente.
