pratique

Does the job but be careful
With recent renovating in the house, wanted to give this a go.Its not to bad but you can only do a part at a time and then have to wipe down the shield per use. What I mean for example is that I had to paint above out skirting boards. Using this shield, I thought you could do a continuous run however found out that eventually the paint seeps underneath the shield and will make a mess. So I found in the end that it was easier having to do one small run with the length of the shield at a time and then wipe off the excess.Found that this was actually taking longer to paint and thought that masking would still have been quicker in the end.Plus I think the base line is too thick and should be a similar thickness to a jointing/taping plastering knife (longer ones) as these are very thin at the bottom thus better for example when I then needed to paint the top of the skirting.Don't get me wrong, I think for small jobs this is a good product to use but for bigger jobs, easier and quicker just to get masking done.

Am I missing something ?
I have given 5 stars because it is good value, good design and easy to hold, but for me it doesn’t work. Ok, so you hold it against the edge of door frame, skirting or whatever and paint, so that bit is easy, what could be more simple, but when you lift the paint guard away the paint on the guard kind of hangs on to the paint on the surface and the result is a mess. Maybe I’m doing it wrong but I have reverted back to a piece of cardboard which works great everytime. It was cheap and cheerful so I won’t try to return it or give a bad review because evidently I just don’t how to “master” it. Perhaps someone out there can enlighten me.
