IPG Sheathing Tape, 1.88" x 54.6 yd, White (Single Roll) (5518USW)

Used it to repair crawlspace vapor barrier that had been cut in many spots due to plumbing problems. Sticks well and although thin, is very strong. You must have a knife or preferably sissors to cut it, because it is impossible to tear off pieces by hand. Generous width also makes it easy to install. Suggest if you know how many short lengths you need is to cut them first from long length before last piece has a chance to rewind and stick back on roll... I temporarily stuck end of first piece to a pvc pipe, unrolled a couple feet and then cut to length(s) and repeat. This prevents cut end from sticking back on roll which saves time if you try to cut and install one piece at a time.

I know this is great sheathing tape and works very well, but I have found other uses. I have done decks around my home and because I'm old and with the help of a beach environment' I've redone a few. What I've noticed is when I apply is barrier to the top of all the joists under the deck surface, they don't deteriorate as fast, the water runs off instead of pooling. I can't take credit for this I'm just a copy cat. moral of the story is it's great tape. I highly recommend this tape.

Used this tape to secure under slab insulation and to tape down vapor barrier. Was easy to use and stuck well.

Works great, VERY sticky, hard to make it let go of your fingers or the scissors, but once over the plastic house wrap (covering the insulation in the basement), it sticks great and holds well ! !I even had a 'flood' recently when a pipe from outside burst inside (due to freezing weather and apparently water in the house in that pipe with an external valve that did not work right). When the pipe burst, the hole aimed right at some of the spots I have taped over with this tape, and NONE of them got washed off, and none of the water got past the tape to soak the insulation ! !I'd call it great tape ! !

I used this in my crawl space where I had some rips in my poly vapor barrier. I originally tried applying small patches of the same poly material and holding them in place with Liquid Nails poly adhesive - but the adhesive didn't hold very well. I peeled off all the adhesive and re-secured the patches with this tape - worked very well and was holding everything solid after 1 month. I will update this review after a few more months to confirm it continued holding the patches in place.

It's okay. It's plain without writing. I found it to be only as sticky as 'every other' tape I tried. I didn't buy it for it's intended purpose, for use with sheathing, so I can't attest for that purpose.I needed a 'stick to anything' tape in white or clear and many people said this type of tape was very sticky, but my limited tests showed it to be as sticky as all duct tape I tried.I needed to tape heavy 6mil poly sheeting and apparently NOTHING sticks to it. I took a piece of poly sheet to Home Depot and they opened a bunch of different tapes and tried them for me. Nothing they carry would stick to it! The only tape we didn't try was red stucco tape, which has many reviews for being extra sticky, but I needed clear or white colored tape.After much research online, I found a duct tape sized roll (2"x66yds) of specialty tape for poly sheet, for $200!! That's a lot for $60 poly sheet.If you truly know of something, personal use/proof, absolutely no guessing, that would stick to 6mil poly sheet, that is not $200 bucks a roll, more like $10-$20, please post a comment.

This seem tape is the best I tried metal tape and this was so much better Ben 2 months and hasn't let go like the metal tape did

Great tape. It doesnt work for my application because I need tape that I can paint over. However, It is very stick, thick enough to last, and I am sure I will find another use for it

Great sheathing tape, same as the red tuck tape, but in white, only white sheathing tape found.

I applied this tape to the inside of building wrap used under metal roofing and cladding on my new shop. I ordered it at relatively great expense because it was to remain exposed inside my shop and the plain white finish was appealing. Earlier in the project, around windows and doorways that would later be covered, I used Blue Tuck Tape with great results. Upon contacting IPG, it was suggested that the rolls I received may have been beyond their shelf life, but there was no way to know for sure without having ordered a full case with a lot number on it. over a matter of months, this tape has almost all sloughed off. Unfortunately, by the time I experienced the failure of this product my return window had passed.I wasted over $100 on this.

Does what I need, invisable repairs. part of the house now.

Not pleased!! Tape did not consistently adhere to Bubble wrap insulation. Had to purchase TUCKTAPE CLEAR Exterior Tape to restick all failing joints.
