HGST Ultrastar DC HC510 (He10) 10TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch | Power Disable | Enterprise Hard Drive - HUH721010ALE600 (0F27452)

Bought two of these 10TB drives and they refused to be recognized by my BIOS which meant they would not show in Windows or Linux installs. Tried two RAID cards and direct to my motherboard with no luck. Contacted tech support who told me the drives have 4K sectors. Regular SATA Drives are 512/512e. I updated my RAID card to a recent one that supports 4K drives and they worked perfectly. The drive stats shown on Amazon do not tell you this.If they appear DOA, you may have a motherboard that does not recognize 4K sector drives. In that case you need to update your motherboard or get a PCIe RAID card that does recognize 4K drives.If you have an older PC, or no space PCIe lanes, best to avoid these and get a traditional 512/512e sector drive.

Like others said. Go to hgst warranty website and input your serial it will tell you that this doesn't have any warrany at all. Also this exact model has this new power feature that makes it tricky to power on. Not even the newest seasonic prime could power it without using an adapter or removing a cable from the power connector. Go buy it elsewhere these are too expensive to purchase and not have any warranty at all.

Notwithstanding some of the negative reviews, I purchased  HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE600 10 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive  due to my need for a 10tb drive [more than one, actually]. I placed it orin an  ICY DOCK Quad Bay 2.5" 3.5" SATA HDD/SSD USB 3.0/eSATA External JBOD Hard Drive Enclosure - Black - ICYCube MB561U3S-4SB R1 , attached to an iMac through USB. I verified the drive's warranty when it arrived. I had one early instance when the drive seemed to lose power as described in another review, but that has never happened since. It has been running non-stop for almost two months now. I plan to buy at least two more.

Turns out, this drive, most likely due to being an enterprise-line product, has a new feature called Power Disable Feature (Google hgst power disable to find the PDF explaining the details).I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200w RS-C00-80GA-D3 power supply. Looks like this power supply has already become "legacy", and this drive does not spin! If I had not tried the drive in a USB-dock, in which it worked, I would have thought the drive was DOA.The HGST document suggests using a molex-to-SATA power connector. However, I did something else, and I do not accept any responsibility if you try this and mess things up, but it is very easy and quick:You can open the back of the SATA power connectors from this power supply, as they have a removable cap. Open the cap of one of the SATA power connectors at the very end of one of the SATA cables. Pull out the first cable from the L-shaped side, put the cap back on, and connect to your drive, and voila! It will spin and you can use it now. You're welcome :)

Ordered HUH721010ALE600, received HUH721010ALE604 instead.Not going to kick a fuss out of this, since I got it for a reasonable price (what a regular HUH721010ALE604 would usually cost anyway).According to the manufacturer's website, the only difference between these 2 models is the security feature:HUH721010ALE600: ISE (Instant Secure Erase)HUH721010ALE604: SE (Secure Erase)Since this disk is purely for personal consumption and I don't need the extra security features, I don't have any real issues. Still, I'd thought this would be important to some shoppers out there.

DOA and of course, no warrranty, cheap still comes with the price...There are more than hundreds of "new" HD that i been worked on, this is the only one that won't spin out of the box.Such a record breaker.Although i don't care about warranty, but this one doesn't have WD us warranty nether.

Standard SATA power cable will not work with at least HE10 drive . Sata to molex should work. Have nothing to say about drive yet but had to RMA one because of this problem (I was not aware). Then I have found on internet that special power cable is required. Very strange for such a modern and advanced hdd. And I have very powerful and modern desktop with 1000W power block.

I checked this drive at wdc.com for the warranty and it said the serial number was invalid. Also the LABEL on the drive does not match the picture on AMAZON or the WD website

Disco da 3.5" sata 3.3 (6gb e pin di enable) da 10TB della HGST (ora Western Digital).Questo disco risulta progettato per lavorare nei NAS o datacenter, quindi un uso intensivo con grandi carichi di lavoro H24, con tecnologia Helio per ridurre l'attrito dei dischi in rotazione.Ottimo prodotto con performance che ritroviamo solo in HDD di alto livello.non aggiungo altro perché le specifiche sono ampiamente disponibili in rete ma tenete conto che questo HDD è più rumoroso di altri.Nel mio caso l'unica pecca è la data di produzione che risale al nov2017 sebbene l'acquisto risale a dic2019. La garanzia vale lo stesso e le ore di lavoro registrare nel device sono a due cifre.Prodotto costoso ma in linea con il livello di qualità e prestazioni (10TB sata 3.3 /6Gb).

Difficile de donner un avis sur un disque dur car finalement, a peu de choses près, en utilisation ils se valent à peu près tous pour peu qu'on prenne des disques avec des caractéristiques équivalentes.Alors pourquoi ce HGST He10 et pas un autre ? Avant tout pour sa fiabilité. Lorsqu'on investit dans un disque de 10To on espère que celui-ci ne tombera pas en panne au bout de 2 ans. Et ce HGST semble être le disque le plus fiable de sa catégorie d'après des statistiques de panne faites par des gros datacenters. De plus, sa construction et l'utilisation de l'helium contribue à une hausse de fiabilité ainsi qu'a des meilleures performances et une consommation moins élevée.Bref autant de paramètres qui justifient le choix de ce disque pour une utilisation serveur (dans un NAS Synology en ce qui me concerne).Bref un disque performant (7200trs/min), à priori fiable, fabriqué pour etre en marche 24/24 et avec une grosse capacité, il remplit pour le moment parfaitement sa tache.A noter que seulement 9.1 Go sont allouables sur les 10Go et qu'en terme de bruit il est dans la moyenne, pas hyper silencieux, le grattement est audible en pleine écriture mais cela reste raisonnable.(Je n'ai pas constaté de problème d'emballage de la part d'amazon comme certains clients le remontent sur les achats de disque dur. Il etait livré dans un carton ajusté à la taille et serré encapsulé par 2 "bumpers" de chaque coté, le disque n'était donc pas en contact avec le carton du colis et donc bien protégé)

Ich habe schon viele Festplatten von HGST gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden mit den Festplatten an sich. Dieser Kauf hier kam direkt von Amazon EU S.a.r.l. Die Festplatte hat eigentlich 5 Jahre Hersteller-Garantie. Dies ist für mich der wesentliche Punkt beim Kauf. Man kann die Hersteller-Garantie über die Seriennummer bei HGST prüfen. Meine Seriennummer wurde als ungültig angezeigt. Damit hätte ich keine Hersteller-Garantie! Ich gebe Sie daher an Amazon zurück, da ein Anruf auch keine Klarheit brachte.Kunden sollten unbedingt die Hersteller-Garantie prüfen, da immer mehr OEM-, Bulk- und Recertified-Festplatten im Handel sind, die keine Hersteller-Garantie haben.Mit dieser Bewertung, die sich nicht gegen die Festplatte als solche richtet, möchte ich andere Kunden auf die Problematik aufmerksam machen.

Je suis un utilisateur comblé, le HGST HE10 est un très bon disque dur. Silencieux, c'est un 7.200Tm, pas de vibrations, taux de transferts excellent. WD a récemment annoncé avoir vendu plus de 15 millions de disques durs hélium. N'hésitez pas mais commandez chez Allen France, faites confiance aux prosJ'avais commandé deux HD. La rapidité de la livraison et la qualité de l'emballage m'ont agréablement surpris.Je vous recommande chaudement Allen_France. Ca sent bon le pro. Le disque était maintenu à ses extrèmités par deux bidules qui l'empêchait de bouger, un amortisseur anti/chocsCe disque est SATA 3.3, utilisez un adaptateur SATA vers MOLEX pour permettre à votre disque de démarrrer.Il est en moyenne 10% plus rapide qu'un Seagate Barracuda Pro 10TB mais il a commencé à émettre des espèces de toctoc, ,je l'ai retiré de ma tour, des pièces voyagent à l'intérieur, et renvoyé à l'expéditeur.Maie je recommanderai sans hésiter à Allen_France, un HE12 par exemple

prodotto non funzionante/difettoso, prima di vendere un prodotto verificare il funzionamento, ho chiesto il rimborso ad Amazon. Purtroppo queste situazioni capitano troppo spesso.
