This watch is Amazing for the low price!
This watch is very good for the price. It is actually pretty rugged and feels high quality like a nice old school japan casio. I like the tide function it works perfect and is very accurate as well. The light is very nice as it is a nice orange color and very bright. The long lasting 10 year battery is what makes this watch very good as well.

Great Buy
This is the second Casio W753-1AV watch I have owned. After six years of use and abuse, one of the strap retaining holes broke (my fault), but the watch still keeps great time sitting on my desk. I was so impressed with the battery life, ease of use, and durability despite its hard life, that I decided to get another. The watch is also stylish, with a metal surround that has a satin finish on top to prevent glare and a polished finish along the edges to give it a great look. The factory strap on my original watch lasted maybe two years, and I went through a couple more replacement straps. I don't know of any non-leather factory watch band that will last 10 years, so I'm not knocking the product, just informing of expectations. Finally, I like that the display includes a large time readout, as well as indications for the day and month (not all do this anymore).

Great watch--iffy band
I have used Casio watches for over 20 years. I learned a long time ago that the weak link is the plastic band. About three watches ago I switched to the W753 with a stainless steel band. When the last one broke and the display quit (after several years) I decided to get another like it. I was somewhat dismayed to find it advertised here for something north of $80. The last one cost around $20. It seems Casio has discontinued the stainless steel band version, so that probably is the reason for the dramatic price increase on those still available. I bought this one and swapped the band from the last one. It fit perfectly. If I had realized that works I would have bought the plastic band version last time. These have been quite accurate. I reset them every two or three months when they get about 30 seconds fast. As another reviewer mentioned, I find that one of the buttons can occasionally get pushed when working with my hands. It is a simple matter to correct it when I notice the display has changed. This model is advertised to have a 10 year battery. I find that pessimistic. The first W753 I bought is still running, probably 12 to 15 years later. I stopped using it because the switches quit working well. The display on the last one went blank. After I ordered this one, I took the other apart, then put back together and the display worked normally. The problem is probably in the connections to the liquid crystal display, which can become touchy over time on any brand of watch.Edit 2+ years later. The accuracy of this watch has been phenomenal. I did not have to reset it at all for over two years--it has remained within about 20 seconds of a WWV synchronized clock. Their has been, however, one problem. For some strange reason the watch completely reset itself last night. I had to fumble with the buttons (the original manual has been misplaced) for a while to set everything--day, month, and time. A minor problem IMHO.

An excellent watch in all respects
This is the second copy of this watch that I have purchased. I have worn the first for more than three years and have been amazed at its precision and ease of use. It rarely gained or lost more than one second per month. The numbers were very legible. And the ease at which the time could be changed when moving between time zones was very pleasing. After more than three years, the band split. I was amazed to find that the price of a new band was only about $5 less than the price of a new watch, so I ordered my second one. I'll keep the first as a time reference on my work bench.I have not had the new watch long enough to see if the precision in time keeping will equal that of my first one.

A Straight Up Piece of Junk!!!
I should have read the description more carefully, I guess! This watch is a straight up piece of crap. I has all these functions that are so useless, unless you are really interested in the Sun, moon and tides. I basically bought this watch, because I thought it looked decent and was looking for the basic normal functions. I wore this watch a couple of times and I'd look at the watch to check for time and it is showing me some mess about degrees of the sun, tides or moon! I am then having to press buttons to get back to the basic time of the day function. I would definitely not recommend this watch to someone that is looking for a nice watch to keep and display normal time and date functions!! Mine now sits on a shelf or in a drawer useles!!!

Best $19 dollars a surfer can spend
Great way to know the tides, moon, and other data. Can back time heats. Can set alarm to be on time for your heats! As long as you set the longitude, lunitudinal interval, and delay correctly, this watch will be accurate. It's light as a feather, and has100 meter capability. Also has a light to see the time at night. Great watch for the money!
