My great granddaughter loved painting the pot and planting.

I purchased this to do with the granddaughters and they loved it. It actually has alot of seeds and was able to plant in other pots as well. They grow faster with what comes with the kit then planting them in other pots but every seed grew . They also loved painting the rocks. This comes with everything you need. Very easy to do.

Last year when we planted our spring flowers, my daughter was thrilled to help out. My wife guided her through the process and she helped plant a bunch of various seedlings into flower pots for display on our deck.When I saw this set, I knew instantly that it would be a great present for her for use in the spring because it would give her her own flowerpot to nurture and grow. Plus, as a naturally artistic person, she’d love decorating the white metal planter for display.The set includes pretty much everything you need to do the project. A metal planter with a plastic drip tray, small watering can, 3 compressed discs of soil, rocks for the bottom of the planter, miniature gardening tools, a small battery powered LED lighting strip, four packs of seeds, two sets of acrylic paint pots in various colors, a pair of paint brushes, small sign posts for labeling the plants and an instruction booklet.The booklet is in English and mostly intelligible. It’s clearly written by a non-English speaker, but well enough to be understood. One thing I will note is that it refers to the included plants being Calliopsis, but in fact the seeds included are various types of flowers, sunflower, Zinias, etc. The instructions suggest germinating the seeds before planting, but I think in the case of the actual included ones, that wouldn’t be necessary.The compressed discs of soil need to be re-hydrated and broken apart before use. I’m sure the included soil is fine and will be useful for people who don’t have access to other soil, but there isn’t much of it and I’m uncertain it’ll be enough for how large the pot is. We chose to use regular store bought potting soil instead.The planter itself is stark white with a gloss paint. The paint pots are acrylic paints so they should hold up to a bit of sun and wear. The included wooden sign steaks are fairly large and a good size for painting/coloring by kids.Bottom line here is this is a really nice all in one kit. It comes with everything you need to do this project and create a flower planter. This makes it great for kids and situations where actual gardens and planting aren’t possible, such as apartment buildings and the like. Definitely recommended as a great kid focused spring project.

My daughter received this kit as a gift. It has plenty of seeds but only two grew and died two days later. Also, 3 discs of soil are not enough for the pot. Don't waste your money.
