Liberty Mountain Watertight Map Case (11 x 12.5-Inch)

Ridiculously inaccurate product dimensions. 12.5"x11"? Should be plenty large enough for a standard 8.5"x11" sheet of paper, right? Think again. No doubt, I will be returning this product.- The actual *long* dimension is 12.5" only if you include the 1.5" black section for the lanyard + the .75" ziplock seam + the welded edge seams. Functional dimension is really only 10".- The actual *short* dimension also includes the welded edge seams. Functional dimension is really *maybe* 10.75" (with a very tight squeeze). For 2-3 pages to fit, they'd have to be under 10.5".

The vinyl is a good thickness and it's completely clear. The ziploc seems pretty tight and waterproof as well. However the sizing of 11" x12.5" is incorrect. The outside measurements of the whole thing is actually 11" x12." That would be fine except that the 1.75" black vinyl header is just to hold the cord. And then you need to take into account the amount of space used for the ziploc and the sealed edges. So the actual usable dimension for a map is 10.5" x 9.5." It would be a good case for smaller maps or other things but it didn't fit my needs.

I wasn't looking for "air-tight, waterproof"...just something to protect the map from spilled water or coffee, in the car, on an upcoming trip. I have the first map opened, as the photograph shows, and am storing the other two maps I'll need behind it...so all of the maps are together.

It's a bit spendy for a ziploc baggy. Left my map in and it's ink is now transferred to the clear plastic. This hasn't been a great experience.

I needed these to keep items dry on the boat. They do the trick! With GPS, not so much maps, but there is always something to protect from water.
