I manually changed it. No need to use overly fancy tools, maybe take tweezers from your girlfriend or mom, and you're set. It worked like new after having horrible drift. I've use my controller for many months and still hasn't malfunction. Thankfully I have extras if it does.

No need to replace the entire joystick. The circular wiper inside these can be removed and installed on the joystick with drift. Completely fixed my drift issues.

The plus side? Inexpensive and comes in bulk. Once you replace one or replace the disc for the first time, it is a lot easier process to repeat.

We had to controllers with stick drift. These worked perfectly to replace dead potentiometers. It wasn't necessary to remove the old assembly from the board and solder these replacements. I just replaced the potentiometers themselves—which I would probably order next time. In any case, this was a much cheaper solution than buying new controllers for $70 or the $200 Edge. Plus, it took about 20 minutes to fix each controller.
