Hultafors 840025 H 006 SV Hatchet

I purchased this as a gift and was impressed by the quick shipping and the high quality. I expect I'll be buying another one soon, but for me!

Solid hatchet for the price.

The hatchet arrived in what I might describe as a semi-finished state. The handle was quite rough -- the surface was fuzzed with fibers. The cutting edge was roughly ground on a coarse wheel. I sanded, oiled, and burnished the handle to bring it into working nick. I rasped down the butt of the handle to remove the lathe mark. I also re-ground the bevel of the blade, sharpened, and stropped the edge to make it usable. To give you an idea of how rough the original edge was, you can still see the original grinding marks above the polished edge in the attached photo.After making those quick modifications, I have a hatchet that I really like. It is comfortable, razor sharp, and holds its edge.

I been getting ready to put a better edge on it so i use easyer thanks John Rockwood,mi.

Very nice not disappointed!

Nice for the price. Not quite gb or wetterlings (not defunct unfortunately) quality but still very nice. Great grain orientation and hung well. Very nice edge just a small touch up to make perfect. Only real complaint was the sheath was a bit large. Doesn't shake off but could come off if dragged on something .easy to macgyver a fix for that although .

Blade finish is rough and not that sharp but seems strong. Unit not the most ergonomically designed.
