I bought this and another brand to compare quality. Even after taking out of the wrap it remained flat. It's solid wood compared to the layered wood of other brands. This will be my go-to for future model making materials.

I ordered this to use with my 10W diode laser. This cuts cleanly but as other reviews state it definitely isn't basswood. It wasn't warped at all but did cracker at a seam on a board. I also had some that seemed to warp when I painted it.Overall it works but I won't be ordering this again.

This was a good product for the price and I will probably be ordering this again. But, there were portions of the wood that looked almost blue? I am using these for laser projects and it made the engraving look so uneven. But it cuts very well and does the trick for what I need.

I think a lot of the poor reviews here are due to the terrible detail in the listing, and confusion about what you're actually buying. The description says "balsa", and that's what I received. The photos, and even the packaging it comes in, says "basswood". It is NOT BASSWOOD. Or at least, it's not like any basswood i've ever seen. I'm not sure why they don't just change the label on the package to say "Balsa". I guess because it's made in china, and they don't know the translation?What I received is very light, very soft, balsa wood. It seems to be of decent consistency and color, although the 12x12 sheet is clearly made of several skinny strips of balsa bonded together. No matter, it works well enough.I wanted balsa, I got balsa, and therefore I'm happy. If someone wants basswood, look elsewhere.

The surface is a little bit wavy, not entirely smooth. I was going to use a stencil on the wood but the wavy surface isn’t ideal

The sheets ate exactly what you would expect, just be careful when working with them because they can snap quite easily.

The wood is ok half of them were warped beyond workable.

I needed wood for 1:12 dollhouse walls. This wood is a bit thinner than what came in the house and work fine . Very pleased with purchase and would buy again.
