Powerheat 8QH9288-W500 39" Infrared Quartz Tower Heater

This heater works great! We have two of them and hardly ever have to turn on our heat. It also looks nice so I don't mind it sitting out all the time.

My review is for the 5QH9275 model which looks very similar, but definitely not the same model. As my review is for a similar, but not exact model, my opinion may not be transferrable to this model. Use your own judgment. OK, now for the product. I actually liked the product when it was working. Quiet, effective and did not seem to noticeably use much power. However, keep your paperwork...you will likely need it! The unit stopped working long before it should have. Customer support is generally atrocious. The staff don't answer the phone quickly. They don't know anything. They have trouble finding manuals. They won't answer a simple question without the manual in front of them. They don't call back. In my experience, more than half the time, the phone is not answered....neither the free dial nor the corporate office. Sometimes there are messages that phone service has been cut. After a few calls and multiple discussions, I finally got a guy to agree to replace the unit! Yeah! But they initially wanted to charge me $120, which was far more than I paid retail. Just this one thing probably says all you need to know about this company. After some discussion, they agreed to send me an equivalent one for the cost of shipping. The product never showed up. After many, many more calls and not getting through (again), I finally reached a staff member who said the previous person was fired and they rescinded the agreement for my replacement (the reason being that I could not supply my receipt). I could go on and on, but I will never buy anything else this company (Twin Star International) makes. I strongly recommend seriously considering alternatives before buying anything from this manufacturer....and they have a bunch of brands. Look them up. I cannot say any other manufacturer is better. I can only tell you my experience, and I was very unhappy with the company's inability to provide quality customer service or to stand behind their product. Take it for what it's worth.
