These are NOT what they used to be!!!
What a huge disappointment! I ordered this 3-pack as well as the individual rose tin, and I’ll just say that there is simply no flavor to these - at all. I’m very familiar with these mints, having bought them several times in Paris through the years—-and they were fabulous. Not perfume-y or overwhelming, just lovely and a wonderful little gift to toss into a Xmas stocking—-I carried them in my purse ALL the time.To find that they are so very different was pretty shocking. In short, these taste like little white balls of sugar. Period. That’s all there is. There is not even a whisper of a scent of rose or violet or orange blossom - no scent at all.AND...they’re packaged with the bar code sticker affixed to the front, covering the pretty graphics—-and it’s not one of those stickers that peels away easily and smoothly. Just horrible—-i had to use Goo Gone to remove all of the adhesive. And of course, the Goo Gone took a bit of the pigment with it, leaving an ugly gray smudge in 3 places, completely marring the picture. A small thing, I know, but I actually prefer the little tins to the mints inside. Oh, well.Finally—-as a forever Prime member I was stunned to see that these are not returnable or refundable. My bad, I guess, for not reading the very fine print. Anyway, if you’re looking for a sweet little something to toss into your bag to give to a friend, this isn’t it. Unless you carry Goo Gone in your bag as well.ADDENDUM - re: the return/refund thing: there IS no fine print stating that such is the case. For 20 bucks I’m not going to stress about it but Amazon should tell it like it is. At the very least.

Hard to find! Have been looking for these since the 80s!!
SCORE!! These are SO hard to find. I've been looking for them since the 80s when they disappeared with Drug Emporium and a candy store in Seattle. I couldn't even find them in the UK when I was there. My 20-something y/o daughter found them here! ...now she's hooked, too!Since you're not likely to know anybody familiar with these...These are not "mints" as commonly thought, nor are they for children - they are definitely adult candies. They aren't strong, biting mints by any means. They are subtly sweet, fragrant, and flavorful candies with an anise seed inside to finish off the treat with a touch of licorice. Don't bite them - they are HARD - and meant to be savored. My favorites are the Violets and the Anise. At first, you'll probably find the violets perfumy, but if you give them time, they'll grow on you! The violets and other flavors are also available in a far more economical bulk package. If you're looking for a long-lasting, gently flavored treat, you'll really enjoy these.

They're okay.
I bought these because I was in a floral candy mood and wasn't a big fan. The mints are small hard (jaw-breaker) candies with a mildly sweet taste and an anise seed center. They smell nice, but I'm not too sure how well they'd work as breath fresheners; the anise flavor would work very well, but I felt as though the violet and orange blossom fragrance would just mix with whatever your breath smelled like.I've never liked black licorice jelly beans (I like refrigerated black licorice scotty dogs though!) and that's exactly what the anise mint tastes like (I should've known better but I really wanted the combo pack of orange blossom and violet). The violet mints tasted like you were eating sweet potpourri or perfume. I was really excited to try this one but I really felt like I was eating the smell of the inside of a Macy's. The strong taste strangely assaults your nose as well. The orange blossom one is my favorite. It's light, floral, and very pleasant.I'm sure somebody will love these (evidently, by the number of positive reviews here), but they weren't for me. I'll be sure to try the lemon, mint, and rose variety pack.

Confused
I feel confused as to why these are fine candies. I drink orange blossom water and the Orange Blossom candies taste like perfume. The Anise tastes accurate and the Violet doesn't taste like much of anything. However, the taste on all the candies goes away after about thirty seconds to a minute and then you're left sucking on sugar. Hmm?? the packaging is pretty and I'm saving the containers though the Violet and Orange Blossom went in the trash. The tape on the little boxes is too thin to remove adequately, so you're left with pieces of tape on the box. Hmm?

Nice candy for grown ups.
My mom loves anise and things French. I saw these on an international house hunters episode & was thrilled to find a three pack here. I gave them to mom in her Christmas stocking & she likes them.Even not liking Anise, I find the orange flavor reasonably tasty. The candies are larger than I expected. I thought they'd be the size of chocolate coated sunflower seeds, but they are more the size of supermarket blueberries, a tad smaller than a jelly bean.Had a shipping issue, but the retailer more than made up for it, quite promptly, after I emailed them about it. Recommend the candy, the containers, and the seller.

ORANGE BLOSSOM- not orange.... and violet (flower), and regular anise
Description is a bit off- but it's significant. The "orange" is actually orange blossom, so quite floral, and not citrusy. I'm not a fan. The violet is very floral- which was expected, and I tried it just to see if I like it. Not thrilled - it's too floral for me. The 'original' anise is its usual great flavor... all of them have the green anise seed in the center. I'm glad I got to try a 'sampler' of sorts, so I could try the floral flavors. I think I'll stick with the original, black currant, and lemon :)

5 stars for anise & orange. meh for the violet flavor.
love these! well, love the anise & the orange, not fond of the violet. wish i could trade those. still, these are wonderful. had been reduced to anise cough drops to get my anise fix, these are much better.more expensive, but worth it. plus i plan to find interesting uses for those tins, so cool. just wish they were all metal, not half metal half plastic.yeah, it takes a few to remember do NOT bite these! hard! wow! but lovely after dinner or while driving.anyhow, if you love anise, try these. maybe you'll find someone who loves the violet ones. [ i grew up with grammy eating violet candies, but they are too strong now]
