Was really surprised by this. Very happy with the purchase.
I’ve had a couple standard safety razors over five and I have to say this is the best so far. I actually like these designs better than the Lotus open flower type of butterfly razor. This version, unscrewed from the bottom, and you assemble it in three portions, and re-screw it connecting everything together.. less of a chance of the top opening up on you and the razor knicking you. This happened to me a couple times before I switched these type of models. So they’re far more safer and the blade doesn’t move. One of the things I enjoyed about it is that a sturdy, strong, and it feels durable. It’s actually perfectly balanced ! my previous ones were either light or they were top-heavy that you set them somewhere and they slightly tip over and fall to the ground. This one perfectly balanced, weight wise.Makes it easier for when you’re shaving up and down left or right or moving your head because the weight is evenly distribute. It does have physical weight, so it feels like they’re actually shaving with a high-quality product. It’s not light like a plastic.I don’t need to tell anybody how to actually shave but in case somebody younger that’s looking at my review or simply curious. Unscrew the top, put the razor in the center, screw it back down and go careful shaving the first time if you’re not familiar with it.After a while you’re able to go a little bit faster, but I would always recommend going slower, you can get a perfect shave. Going slower is more accurate and less of a chance of you accidentally cutting yourself. The razor does a good job of keeping you safe while giving you a close shave. The reason I said go slower is because sometimes you can angle the razor too rapidly nicking yourself. There’s no need for fancy shave lotion, but that’s more of a personal preference. I get very good lathering, soft soap for shaving and it works just as good.I like the fact that they came with trial razors generally the razors last about three weeks to maybe even a month, but because the replacement razors are very cheap, you can switch the blade one time every week and still have over 70. If you buy 100 pack for example. The trial razors that it came with actually made me look at some other name brands and yes, there’s a difference in them, including the intensity of the cut, how they’re built, etc. I think it was a smart idea to include them in a nice little gift. A little bit of a warning, the razors I had of the past were longer, so when you put the blade inside, the blade was covered sandwiched between the top and the bottom portion of the blade handle. These are more compact and the razor sticks out from the left and the right side slightly. This is not ann inconvenience or negative. It makes the razor more compact. Easier to control. Just take that into consideration when loading the razor and removing it. Simply just hold the head from wobbling and unscrew from the bottom, reload and you’re ready to go. I have nothing negative to say about it.The only thing I would recommend that every time you shave, make it a point to clean the razor blade I sometimes detach and set it on the counter to let it dry in three pieces and reassemble them later or the next day. Eventually, you’ll get soap buildup so you have to clean the turning handle but beyond that it worked perfect. Doing this always keeps the razor from rusting and soap from setting in.

Great razor
It takes a bit of care to align the blade evenly, but once you do, it provides a really great shave. Nice, heavy razor. Really amazing for the price. The blades alone are worth the price, and the razor is super nice. All razors need some care when closing/tightening the head to make sure the blade has an even reveal on all sides, even my $50 merkur is like that. This razor is a little more difficult to align the blade, but it can be aligned very well once you get the hang of it. I have tried a Merkur 33c, a Parker Variant, and this razor, and honestly I feel kind of silly for paying $50 for the Merkur and $75 for the Parker, because this razor is really all you need. It shaves better than the Merkur and just as well as the Parker. In some ways it's better even than the Parker. The aggressiveness is not adjustable like the Parker, but it is definitely aggressive enough and I don't miss the adjustability when using it. It does have an advantage over the Parker Variant in that the shape of the top cap allows easier shaving of the area right under your nose (the Parker has a much rounder top cap which makes it harder to get right under the nostrils). All in all, I highly recommend this razor set. The blades are genuine too, definitely not knock-offs.

Tremendous value!
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to my Rockwell 6C to use when traveling. The Rockwell is 6x the cost of this razor, and I still find myself using this instead of it's more expensive friend. Do yourself a favor and try this razor, especially of you're new to double edge safety razors!

This one is set apart from the rest
The Roman Empire Caesar is a most unusual razor in that it is a bargain razor that definitely doesn’t look like one. In fact, one look at the packaging and you’ll immediately think that this would make a very nice gift. Then something most surprising: they give you 4 packs of some of the most popular blades. For my first shave I used a Gillette Platinum. Most bargain razors at best give no-name blades you’re afraid to try. The razor itself has good heft, decent knurling, a nice length, and is overall attractive. The only downsides are that there is some blade reveal, and I had trouble screwing the handle onto the top cap. I used some pre-shave oil and that helped. I’ve never had this problem before, and I’ve used a lot of different razors. Still, you get a close, mild shave. I’ve tried several other low-price razors, and this is by far the best. For the price you cannot do better.
