They hold there edge well, Sharpener works good, The scissors has a "return to open" spring that automatedly opens them back up and holds well in your hands. That's why it has a latch on the end. We have a black block and looks great on our counter. I do wish that the manufacture would 1, Angle the block down slightly so the knifes were more forward to make it easier to get the large knifes in and out. We have to set the block out a little from under our top cupboards to pull them out. But we had the same problem with brands.

Knives are excellent however the block came out of the box scratched. This was a gift and they didn’t mind the scratch so we kept it.

My wife and I searched for a good set of knives without having to buy items we do not need, like a spreader, or cleaver. This set matched what we were seeking and was perfect for our needs.
