I was thrilled to find Gulzar's work translated in Bengali !The stories are gripping,short and down to earth.Each of them contains a message that's going to stay with you long after you have stopped reading it.The translation is also good.The only thing that disappointed me was the condition of the book!The seller has sold it at 50 bucks less only to give me a shabby book.

Stories from the independence and pre independence era, this classic takes you through the simple lives of men and women getting through their lives in the backdrop of the freedom struggle.I bought this book as I had read the story Raavi par earlier and this heart wrenching piece never fails to give me goosebumps.The other stories are equally good. Let this be your monsoon sunday pick.

Very good translated and short stories are also charming . good paper and binding. I bought it only Rs. 80

I'd too high expectations from a book written by such renowned personality. The book failed to impress me. Neither the stories nor the language is too great to praise about. The only good story was Raavi Paar itself. All other stories look so meaningless and incomplete .
