Zebco Omega Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo, Natural Cork Rod Handle, Instant Anti-Reverse Fishing Reel

Very very good quality. I have owned and used one Zebco rod and reel for over 40 years. So I decided to buy another rod and reel. Well, my was discontinued (go figure) so I researched and purchased this one the Zebco Z02 that is a "Z" not a two(2). The purchase from Garrett was my second one and first time using Garrett Outdoors. Get it elsewhere.Back to the Rod and reel: What a smooth casting setup. The workmanship on the reel is far superior anything I have seen in my price range. All metal construction smooth casts, smooth as butter reeling in, the rod feels like a medium fast. I have caught several 2-4 pound fish using 4 lb. test NO problems. I take it on all my road trips. Most important to me was the machined alluminium covers and cast body as well as the number bearings. I can cast about 1/3rd farther than others with open faced spinning reels. The second spool allows me to go for bigger fish. If you catch fish more than 8 pounds regularly I recommend the the Z03, it's the same construction. I'm seriously thinking of getting a few more as gifts for daughters and my grandchildren.

Restored a 1999 alumacraft 1442 and used AlumaHawk as my paint. I've never painted with a resin based paint. I thinned it out with 10% thinner (per the label). Even then its thick and tends to get tacky quickly. Rollers made a mess, brush was easier. Keep it wet as you lay it on, remember, it gets tacky. Im 80/20 salt/fresh and so far, this paint is very durable, some scuffs but nothing has made it to metal.

I grew up on Zebco 33s, so spincasters are truly my preference & this little rig (size 20 reel) is a nice one. Smooth reel & nice little rod. I'd put the reel's smoothness & feel right there with my Pflueger President spinning reel.

Rec'd 5'-6" / #20 reel combo today, swapped handle to left side and hit the lake. Quality seems good, looks better than in photos, and feels solid for a light weight combo. Casts great with 3/8 oz lure and reel is very smooth. Concerns are minor, retrieval rate is slower than I expected, drag seems to go from too light to too heavy quickly, and handle came loose after 100 casts maybe. Lock tight on the handle retainer should solve that issue, definitely feels like more good than bad at this point.

Less than a dollar more than purchasing the reel alone. Love the lightweight reel. Recommended! Rod medium & good for bass & other species. I prefer a faster action for pan fish. Reel great as expected and comes with extra crank. Don't Care for the red cajun line, yet is works right out of the box. Extra spool is wonderful...like the good old days when we got an extra all the time.

I'ved used spincasts as well as baitcasters, spinning and even cane poles and this combo is the real deal. The rod and reel are well matched and the reel is nothing even close to your granddady's spincast. I decided to go back to a spincast system to make it a litte easier to stay out all day, since a recent stroke makes it hard to get in the boat, plus casting and reeling tends to wear me down. Since using this Zebco kit I may never use anything else. It's very sturdy, precise, solid. No tangles, excellent reel and drag. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any fisherman at any level.

I ordered this fishing pole on May 5th and did not receive package until May 18th even with my prime membership. Not only did this pole come late but was also damaged and unusable. At this time I would like a new fishing pole. Ron Duple
