Well it's almost waterproof. The seams are just tac welded and have small cracks in the seams. Use silicone to seal in the inside. When holding up you can see them. I make my own solar combiner box. No Fire starting MC4 connections here. It's a one connection at solar panels with compression connections then right inside to fuses then buss bar then CB and surge device. Made box work. I'm Sure true outdoor or water tight boxes should have a pitch to the top. But this one under cover all the time. The size worked well. I think next time I'll look for one with pitch to the top. Or a wash down box.

I got this box to house two 12V batteries and a solar charge controller. The box is very sturdy and functions as described. One thing that I wish I would've know is that if you are placing this battery outside, it is NOT waterproof. As stated in the description, it is IP54 rated, which basically means if this box gets rained on from above, it won't necessarily stop it.Fortunately for me, just drilling a couple small holes at the bottom allows the water to drain out if it does collect, and the items I have in the box can stand in a small amount of water.The only negative i'd have to say is that the screws used to hold the box together do protrude on the inside in certain spots taking away from the available storage space in some areas.

Box used for electrical components, worked as advertised. Been installed for about 6 months, still looks like new.

I love that this box is made of stainless steel and have a large interior to fit my needs. The box was to be used for holding electronics for my gardening automation project. However, after testing the locking mechanism I can no longer open the lock and both keys are bent to the point of breaking. Product will be 5 ⭐ if the locking mechanism works.Returning to Amazon ASAP.
