I bought the 32 mm new to old fit tool adapter converter because I recently bought a Dyson V6 cordless vacuum. It came with several accessories, but I really liked a small but mighty pet hair tool from my old vacuum I still have, an upright Hoover Wind Tunnel. The pet tool is key to getting pet hair off my couch and the V6 attachments, while fantastic for many other household tasks, failed horribly at pet hair clung onto a microfiber couch.When I tried to fit the Hoover part onto the end of the Dyson, they weren't the same size. I tried using a toilet paper roll to jimmy them together - unsurprisingly, did not work. I'd been keeping my old vacuum around just for the pet brush, but keeping two vacuums around was getting silly. So, I took to Amazon and found this adapter.I wasn't sure this adapter would work because the description was really difficult to understand and I didn't know if older Dyson attachments were a different size than my Hoover. I took a chance since it is priced modestly (definitely more modestly than a new Dyson branded pet hair attachment!). It arrived a few mornings ago before work and I eagerly tore open the package to test if it fit onto my Dyson V6 properly - and if my Hoover attachment would fit to the other end. Can you imagine being *excited* about a vacuum attachment?The adapter snapped into place on the Dyson V6 perfectly. My Hoover attachment fit perfectly. The color of the adapter matches my V6 perfectly and I would have never known it was OEM. Now I can finally give my Hoover away (minus one pet tool!).

I've only used this for a roughly an hour, so I can't speak to durability, but this functions well. The fit is a bit tight - it does not have a solid "click" like a Dyson-brand attachment - but it works just fine. More importantly, it allows the use of non-Dyson branded, 1-1/4" or 32mm vacuum tools and attachments on a Dyson canister vacuum. I use this with a generic hardwood floor tool and it works great. The Dyson-brand hardwood floor attachment is over double the price of this adapter and a generic tool - if this adapter holds up - it more than pays for itself.

Just what we needed. Inherited a DC58, like new, but only has the one short attachment - found the lack of extension tube very limiting with low functionality of just the one short tool. This allows using a standard extension tube and attachments from an old vac. Got a lot more functionality now. The machine has plenty of suction to handle the extension and floor tool so it’s strange that dyson did not include them. They don’t even make them for this model. Terrible. I’ll never buy a dyson -at they pricing they charge for these things they should have everything included. Anyway, I dinged it 1 star for a less than perfect fit. It latches in well but has a bit of wiggle. A couple wraps of electrical tape snugged it up just fine.

Just to confirm, this does fit my Dyson v6 Top Dog Handheld DC58, and then fits to my standard wall-vac's tools.FINALLY can use my standard brush tool and upholstery tool. Love my various Dysons over the years, but some of their attachments are just plain too convoluted (over engineered) and simply don't fit into many spaces. That's especially true of the dust brush and the upholstery tools that come with almost every vacuum.For clarification, I recently also bought the extension hose for my handheld so that I could reach areas where attachments on the handheld blocked it. Now I can add the standard tool adapter to the end of the hose, then add a normal brush or upholstery tool in order to get into nooks and crannies, especially in my car, cabinets, under things, etc.

Have 2 older Dyson vacuums. Never could properly use them on vacuum storage bags but with this addition, I can. This was the sole reason I purchased this, for vacuum compressing clothes and bedding for storage and for that it is perfect. Also matches the color of the vacuums, which is nice.It does fits looser than other attachments. I not sure, but if you were using it for a different purpose you might notice some loss of suction.

This tool allows you to use all of your favorite vacuum tools on your Dyson. While Dyson tools are good for many things, they are not great for hardwood floors. This adapter allows you to use what you need to do clean for floors or furniture.

Works great. Just as I would expect it to. This adapter plugs into the newer style Dyson attachment (with the button to latch), and it gives you a tip that will take many vacuum attachments, from Dyson and other manufactureres. It fits my Rainbow attachments, and my Oreck attachments. I think the size of the attachement tip is 32mm.

I have good quality brushes saved from an old vacuum that had standard "smooth tube" ends that you just push together to attach, and could not use them with my new Dyson because its attachments "click on". This connector solved my problem! It works perfectly with my Dyson canister vacuum.

Note: I got this for my Dyson Big Ball Cinetic, quick release attachment use. This means I used the attachment that came with the Dyson, the quick release tool in conjunction with this item.I bought this item to use with a horse hair brush since our fine crevice brush was out of commission and buying a new brush tool seemed too pricy. This was a great alternative. It fits great for the adapter piece and I'm now able to use my old Bissell attachments with my Dyson without forking out the money on new pieces. It hasn't cracked or broke and I highly recommend it. It snaps into the quick release tool and it seems sturdy.

This fits my DC35 Dyson vacuum perfectly . I can now use standard, less expensive attachments from my Kenmore / Panasonic vacuum.The hard floor attachment fits well as does the duster brush.

Bought this to use with horsehair attachment and my dyson because of gocleanco. Works well!
