Q: does this have many pockets inside to keep things separate? There are no photos of the inside of bag unfortunately

Yes!! I love this bag nice and roomy. There is a big pocket in the side for laptop or whatever and other small pockets on the other side. There is also another large zip pocket on the front that zips down from the side behind the front zip pocket. It’s very nice so many pockets for different things. It’s great I take it everywhere.

Q: Why not just use the power bank? is the usb port really needed?

The USB is more of an extension cable. It helps to keep your phone in you pocket with just the small cable connecting.
