I have heard of this vinegar but never have a ...
I have heard of this vinegar but never have a chance to see it when I was in China. When I was looking for a bottle of Chinkiang( aka Zhenjiang ,which is popular in north China as well as in its native place southeast) Vinegar, I happened to see this also being sold here. Why not giving it a try? I talked to myself.It is different from Zhenjiang vinegar, a bit sweeter, but it is my tape of vinegar.

Always my first choice of rice vinegar!

Do a little research first before deciding.
While it is unlikely you will find Sichuan Baoning vinegar at your Asian supermarket, this is rather underwhelming. As far as Chinese Black Vinegars go, 6 year old Zhen Jiang and 5 year old Shanxi Black Vinegars are superior tasting in my opinion. And you will find them more easily.

Interesting
I've been trying some different Chinese vinegars, and this one found its way onto my list. It's not my favorite, but it is interesting. A little bitter, a little sweet, the taste doesn't linger. Buy it to say you've had it, maybe you'll like it. But I do think there are strictly better options out there.
