Great - right out of the box
My stand actually came with a 'how to put it together' pictures sheet. It's really a no-brainer and chucked at the reviews that mentioned no instructions. I assume those people have a one-piece musical instrument too - LOL. This is a great stand -- strong, steady, sturdy, heavy duty. I've been using a wimpy wiry one which tilts when my big songbook get put on it -- I think the wimpy one even groans. I love the little arm things that hold the pages in place and most of all the 2" shelf. My main songbook is a 500+ page spiral bound transposed hymnal (transposed into the key of F for my multi-part French Horn - which I have no problem assembling either.

5 stars because it is a very nice music stand for the price point but there are ...
If it was an option I would have given this 4.5 stars because it is a very nice music stand for the price point but there are a few nit picky issues that are worth mentioning. The first being the riser poles in the tripod do not have anything stopping them from being pulled out as you are rising them up. Also the bolt that holds the top on the tripod does not seem to keep it tightly secured even once it is screwed down as tight as it will go. The other disappointment was that other stands in the same price point come with a carry bag which I would guess is made from a flimsy nylon material but it would still be nice to have for this stand. The trade off that is a good thing about this stand compared to most of the others in the same price range would be the page holders attached to the bottom ledge of the top. This was why I picked this stand over the ones that came with other accessories and a bag or caring case of some sort but I would have paid a little more to have both if that had been an option.

Great music stand that comes apart and travels well. It is about 5 lbs.to tote but that also makes it sturdy.
This is a great take apart, traveling music stand. It's a good price and will last forever. It weighs about 5 pound, which is a little much to carry but it also makes it sturdy and it does not blow down. It is easy to take apart. The main reason I bought this was to attach my W.R.I.S.T. attachment securely to the pole of the stand. My typical, black lightweight stand I used for traveling had a pole that was too small to work well. Now I have a stand for my practicing in the house and a second one for traveling and playing on the porch. ( W.R.I.S.T. is an attachment which works very well to hold the weight of oboes, clarinets and English Horns while still offering flexibility. Cleveland Redd Co. and Ormonds sells them and will let you try it. Compare prices.

Perfect product for a perfect price ($28)
Perfect product for a perfect price ($28). I wanted a stand that I could leave up and move from room to room. This is heavy enough that I've been able to use it on the screened porch, without wind or fans knocking it over. Yet it is light enough that it's easily portable. It only took moments to set up.

It's okay
It's okay. I have a large binder of songs that weighs quite a bit and this music stand is not quite able to handle the weight. I had to really crank on the knobs to have them keep the height with that much weight. For lighter weight and the low cost of this stand, it's probably fine. I might try another brand if this one keeps slipping with the heavy binder.

Perfect stand for home practice at a great price
I needed a music stand for home drumset practice and this one fit the ticket perfectly. It is sturdy, simple to put together and has a good range of angles on the "bookplate" (where the music sits). The bookplate has 2 metal spring arms that are quite functional and handy- they keep the sheet music and the book music pages open without blocking the music itself, depending on how you angle the springs which are flexible. It's wide enough to keep a book of music open and add on other music sheets without falling off, the spring arms really make this possible. Better than the music stand I use at concert band! Great price- what's not to like? The only reason for 4 stars is the stand is not the super-quality you'd get paying double or triple the amount, but who needs that quality unless you're buying it for a high school band or professional orchestra?

Its ok for the price
It does the job. The quality is about what you would expect for the price. When extending the stand there are no stops and the telescopic shaft will come out. It's kind of a pain because you don't know how far you can raise the stand until it comes out. Saying that I would buy it again if I needed another one.I am using it to hold my ipad when I ride my bike trainer on Zwift. I also set my water bottle on it. I say this because it is left set up all the time and is not used portably.

Hardworking Holder of Printed Music
For $26 and some change....a great stand!!! Sturdy enough for any music book, folds up easy, the little clips that hold the music do the job and it adjusts to any height I could think a musician would need. The item came very well packaged and in a timely manner. If I need another stand in the future, I will buy another one of these.
