Touch of the Dragon: MARTIAL THEORIES TO IMPROVE COMBATIVE TECHNIQUES (Blackburn Ha Kushin Itto Ryu)

Well Done!
I thought the book was well written and easy to understand, even if you aren't a disciple of the martial arts. I enjoyed how the authors delved a bit into the thousands of years of martial arts history to show how the arts have evolved and become what they are today. There are tips and hints for even the ordinary layperson to feel and be safer (Hint, hint: Put your phone away while you are walking down the street and pay attention to what's going on around you!)I look forward to the next book from two men who have such a wealth of knowledge to share!

Earning your art
The best aspect of this writing is the focus on two basic requirements, including what is immediately applicable to today's environment. First is the need to be aware of your surroundings. Don't walk down the street (or drive!) while focused on your cell phone. Be aware of your surroundings. Second, focus on the basic building blocks of your art. Great art doesn't come easy or QUICKLY, and -- reflecting today's world of instant gratification -- can it be purchased at the store. Blackburn and Coleman stress building from the ground up. It's not fast or easy, but it is certain. Marvelous book from teachers who've lived it.
