I started a reef aquarium a few weeks ago and bought this light to replace the tube lights that I had from my previous tank. I can not believe how much my coral has grown in the last few days after installation. Everything looks like I had used miracle grow on steroids.The installation and configuration was simple and only took about 20 minutes to read the directions, install and configure the timer. The default schedule is great out of the box providing an early morning sunrise, very bright daylight, sun set and then a 6 hour moonlight before turning off for the night.You can adjust the duration for each of the phases to meet your needs and schedule. I am not a fan of the "Weather" features but you can have thunderstorms, lightning strikes or rolling clouds if you would like to have those effects as well.It has the ability to control your wave maker and pump as well but I am using equipment from another manufacturer and not sure if that capability exists. Will have to do some research. But if you are using Current USA pump or wave maker you are all set.My overall impression is that this is a solid product and easy to program and is flexible to meet your needs for a healthy reef.

This is my first salt tank in a long time. I had Current USA lighting in the past and I’m glad to say their quality has gotten better and I’m Very happy with my purchase. It was easy to install and provides a really nice shimmer effect in the tank. I’ll be adding an additional light soon to add corals to the tank. Programming took a YouTube video as the instructions are ok. There is what seems to be a phone app to control the lights as well as the whole “LOOP” System that looks terribly easy compared to the remote control supplied with the light just no release date on the WiFi hub......now just stuck waiting on that.

Bought this light as I am setting up my tank. The remote does not work. I've sent an email and called support most of the day. Now they are closed. The light seems to be great however I cannot adjust the time or any other presets.Update: I don't want to have to send this 6ft light back. 7 days ive been waiting. One lady called me back and I missed the call. Called right back. Nothing. Seriously the absolute worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I don't understand why it has been so hard to send out a new loop or remote or even walk me through a possible error through set up. So disappointed.Update: 11 days no repsonse despite making several more phone calls. Will be sending back this weekend.Returned the light and the next day I got an email for a free remote. 3 weeks and I was never contacted.

My light just arrived without a remote. I've contacted customer support, and will update this review when I can actually program and try my light. Without the remote only the blue lights turn on.Edit: I emailed Current's customer support on Sat., gave them my receipt, and had a replacement by Thus. I'm decently pleased.As for the light- My package didn't come with any instructions, so I pulled up a PDF on my phone and had no trouble programming my light. It's certainly not intuitive enough to figure out without instructions, but the instructions are easy to follow. The light itself works great, has lovely color, is fairly strong, even with a deep cube tank (it's taller than it is wide). While at this point I think I would prefer something on an arm next time, since I have to take this light off the tank to clean, I don't really have any other problems with the design.I really enjoy the pre-programmed weather options. It's fun to check the tank as I walk by, because I never know what to expect. I also appreciate that I can program each aspect of the cycle- the full sun, sunrise/set, and night time.Photo acclimating my coral to the new light was very easy. With my previous Kessil, I would be forced to use paper towels or paper to dim the light for a few days to ease them into the new surroundings and I was always stressed that that last transition from paper to unmasked light would stress the coral, but with this light I just programmed the color back for a few days, and then increased the levels until they were back where I liked them.I'm aware this isn't the top quality light, but I'm not in a position to replace the Kessil with 'higher tier' lighting at the moment, and this seems to be working great. I'll update if I run into problems, but the first two weeks has had my fish, coral and anemones looking great and happy.

I love not having to turn my lights on and off and it is easy to program when sunrise and sunset happens and adjust the colors for sunrise/sunset, day and moonlight. The gradual light changes don't startle the fish and it is good there is period of dark as well.I like how you can actually run 2 light strips off them so you can add another one at a later point or have it controlling a light on 2 different tanks.I prefer the bluetooth adapter which is even easier to use but you can always add it at a later point.I do use mine on freshwater tanks with plants that don't have high light requirementsI have multiple ones and out of 6 of them and I did have a single issue where the controller wasn't working correctly (the clock wasn't changing) and after contacting them via their website they promptly sent me a new controller.

Multiple settings to summon your fish to dinnertime. LED's are lackluster. The pics provided show the lights at 100%. Remote included-big deal. The remote is programmable but isn't the most responsive after 30 days of use with a range of >5'. I gave it two stars instead of one because you can simulate a 30 minute thunderstorm if you happen to be within a few feet of the receiver. It's lightweight and the cats find it to be a rather practical base of operations for what else, fishing. My cats give it a 4 star review for this reason but since I was dumb enough to blow too much on this item and not heed other reviews, I'm giving it a 2.
