Wonderful Story
I was in my late twenties when Skellig was originally released and so i never read it. When i saw this i bought it because i collect illustrated hardbacks.I sat and read this story today, no idea what to expect at all, but it was both beautiful and heartbreaking. The wonder and compassion of children to see everything with wonder, the innocence to help regardless of what someone looks like, and the breathtaking beauty of what kindness and love can do to a person, how it can change them.Only reason i gave a 4 and not a 5 is because the quality of the paper isnt great and you can see the next pages text through the pages which drives me nuts.Wonderful story though and i would recommend it.

Beautiful and moving
I picked up Skellig for my 12-year-old son and I have to say, I'm impressed. The story is engaging and perfect for his age group. It deals with important themes like friendship, family, and acceptance in a way that is both heartwarming and thought-provoking. I can't wait for him to dive into this imaginative and unique tale.

Extraordinary
I know there are many reviews about Skellig, but I couldn't help myself in joining them - what a wonderful beautiful book. It touches into your deepest sense of what love and acceptance could mean. It's brilliantly written and evokes many emotions and the story develops into a small timeless masterpiece. What a creative mind David Almond has "WOW" the three main characters Michael, Mina and Skellig are wonderful and all flow together in a timeless adventure of a vibrant, inventive, creative world that leaves you with a sense of the extraordinary. I urge anyone at any age to read this fantastic book.

great read
I read Skellig with an 11year-old boy, and we both enjoyed it. A work of fantasy, Skellig is filled with ambuguity, which I found intetesting but which frustrated my young friend. The motifs of flying and growth is in tension with the motifs of death and decay. The novel centers around Michael and his infant sister, who is fighting for her life. Michael finds a homeless, nearly dying old man in his garage and starts bringing him food and makes a new friend. He learns to see the miraculous in the world.

Lettura scorrevole
Libro di facile lettura, adatto per un pubblico di 8-10 anni per la storia. Essendo in inglese però bisogna avere una discreta conoscenza della lingua.
